  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Receiving breather Sunday

Realmuto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Realmuto started the previous five games and will get a day off after going 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and a stolen base during Saturday's victory. Rafael Marchan will step in behind the plate and bat eighth in the series finale at Milwaukee.

  • Bryan Hudson RP | CHW

White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Opening Sunday's contest

Hudson is slated to serve as the White Sox's opener in front of bulk reliever Erick Fedde in Sunday's game against the Dodgers, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

Hudson will be deployed as an opener for the fourth time this season, with his most recent such assignment having come May 23 against the Giants. The left-hander is expected to work an inning or two before Fedde takes over.

  • Keaton Winn RP | SF

Giants' Keaton Winn: Shelved with elbow strain

The Giants placed Winn on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right elbow strain.

It's uncertain when exactly the right-hander sustained the injury, but he last pitched Monday against Washington and surrendered three runs across two-thirds of an inning. According to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, manager Tony Vitello said an MRI on Winn's elbow didn't reveal anything overly concerning, leaving the Giants optimistic that the 28-year-old will be in line for a short-term absence. Winn will be eligible for reinstatement June 26.

  • Erick Fedde RP | CHW

White Sox's Erick Fedde: Serving in bulk relief Sunday

Fedde is slated to work in bulk relief behind opener Bryan Hudson in Sunday's game against the Dodgers, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

The White Sox will likely have the left-handed Hudson work an inning or two before he turns things over to Fedde, who has made five of his 13 appearances of the season out of the bullpen. In those outings, Fedde has turned in a 5.25 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 15:10 K:BB over 24 innings.

  • Jorge Mateo 2B | TB

Braves' Jorge Mateo: On bench against another righty

Mateo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

With Freddy Peralta on the bump for New York, Mateo will head to the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher. Atlanta should still be able to find room for the right-handed hitter against lefties, but Mauricio Dubon and Ha-Seong Kim look to be ahead of Mateo on the shortstop depth chart.

  • Seiya Suzuki RF | CHC

Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Scratched from starting nine

The Cubs scratched Suzuki (knee) from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

After exiting in the fourth inning of Saturday's 6-1 win due to right knee discomfort, Suzuki had been included in the Cubs' initial lineup for Sunday's game as their designated hitter. However, manager Craig Counsell indicated that the Cubs just wanted to be conservative with Suzuki by holding him out for the series finale, which will give the 31-year-old more time to recover from the knee issue. Moises Ballesteros will end up getting the nod at DH on Sunday in place of Suzuki, who will put his 10-game hitting streak on hold, unless he's called upon for a pinch-hitting situation. Suzuki would still seem to have a good chance at rejoining the starting nine for Monday's game against the Rockies, either at DH or at his usual spot in right field.

  • Heliot Ramos LF | NYY

Giants' Heliot Ramos: Progressing in recovery

Ramos (quadriceps) has been ramping up his hitting and running progressions and could begin a rehab assignment as soon as next week, Maria Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Ramos hasn't played since being placed on the 10-day injured list May 16 due to a right quadriceps strain. The 26-year-old appears to be nearing a return to game action, though there's still no clear timeline for his activation. With Harrison Bader (foot) also on the IL, Drew Gilbert and Jonah Cox will continue seeing increased reps in the Giants' outfield.

  • Diamondbacks' Ryan Waldschmidt: Sitting amid cold spell

Waldschmidt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

The Diamondbacks will keep Waldschmidt on the bench for the second time in four games, as the rookie has hit a bit of a rough patch. Waldschmidt has struck out at least once in each of his last 10 games and is slashing .211/.250/.316 with no home runs or stolen bases and just one run and one RBI over that stretch.

  • Ryan Rolison RP | CHC

Cubs' Ryan Rolison: Serving as opener

Rolison will serve as the Cubs' opening pitcher for Sunday's game against the Giants in San Francisco, Vinnie Duber of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Rolison has been an effective relief option this season with a 2.25 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB over 24 innings, and he's now set to make his first start of the season and the second of his MLB career. The left-hander has covered more than one frame in eight of his 20 appearances with Chicago and is likely to give way to Colin Rea after working an inning or two Sunday.

  • Pavin Smith 1B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Pavin Smith: Heading to bench vs. lefty

Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

The left-handed hitter will head to the bench for the third time in four games while the Reds send lefty Andrew Abbott to the hill. LuJames Groover will get the nod at first base Sunday in place of Smith.
