The Rangers selected Cauley's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Cauley receives his first big-league promotion after slashing .262/.363/.407 with eight home runs, 29 stolen bases and a 45:73 BB:K over 74 games with Round Rock. The 23-year-old will start at second base and batting seventh Monday in Cleveland in his major-league debut. Texas has struggled for production at the keystone this season, so Cauley could get a chance to settle in there if the club prefers to keep Ezequiel Duran in a super-utility role.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Barger (elbow) will be shut down for a couple of weeks after a recent MRI revealed a stress reaction in his back, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Per Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca, Schneider noted that Barger made been progressing well in his recovery from right elbow inflammation while ramping up his hitting in Florida over the past few weeks, but he experienced back pain following a recent workout, which prompted the MRI. As a result of the stress reaction, the 26-year-old's return from the injured list will be delayed until after the All-Star break. After a strong finish to the 2025 regular season and a star turn in the Blue Jays' run to the World Series, Barger has been unable to build on that breakout performance, largely due to injury. He's been limited to just nine games with the big club so far in 2026 while missing time due to left and right ankle sprains in addition to the elbow and back problems.

The Rangers signed Paddack to a one-year contract Monday.

Paddack is expected to make his Rangers debut Monday in Cleveland as the bulk reliever following opener Tyler Alexander, per Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News. The right-hander has gone 0-7 with a 6.96 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 39:19 K:BB in 53 innings over his 13 appearances (nine starts) between the Marlins and Reds this season.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Grisham (hamstring) could be activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday or Friday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Grisham has been shelved for the last two-plus weeks with a strained right hamstring. Boone intimated that Grisham will play in a rehab game Tuesday, though the skipper didn't divulge where it would take place. Barring a setback, Grisham will rejoin the active roster either for the series finale against the Tigers on Wednesday or the series opener versus the Twins on Friday.

Nimmo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians and underwent an MRI on his shoulder earlier in the day, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Nimmo played a full nine innings during Sunday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays, but he appeared to be in pain after colliding with the right-field wall while he flagged down a flyball for the game's final out. Per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News, Nimmo relayed after the game that he suffered a cut above his eye in addition to jamming his shoulder. Nimmo said that he felt "OK" upon reporting to the ballpark Monday, though he acknowledged that his shoulder is still sore. The Rangers aren't expected to make him available off the bench for the series opener in Cleveland while the results of his MRI are pending.

The Cubs placed Shaw on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a sprained left hand, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Shaw injured his hand during Sunday's win over the Brewers. The sprain is considered mild, and manager Craig Counsell believes Shaw could return from the IL when first eligible June 9, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports. That said, with the All-Star break looming, any sort of hiccup would delay Shaw's return until the second half. With Shaw sidelined, Michael Conforto will start in right field Monday versus the Padres and is set to serve as the Cubs' primary option at the position against right-handed pitching.

The Astros optioned Delgado to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Delgado popped his first major-league home run in Sunday's win over the Guardians, but he finds himself back in the minors a day later. He's clearing off the roster to make room for the return of Nick Allen (hamstring) from the injured list.

The Padres reinstated Cronenworth (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Monday. He'll start at second base and bat ninth in the Padres' series opener versus the Cubs.

San Diego optioned infielder/designated hitter Will Wagner to Triple-A El Paso to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for Cronenworth, who returns to the Padres after a nearly two-month stint on the shelf. Cronenworth proved his health last week during a three-game rehab stint with El Paso, going 3-for-12 with a home run and a double while making one start apiece at second base, designated hitter and shortstop. The 32-year-old is likely to see most of his playing time at the keystone, which will result in Fernando Tatis transitioning back into more of a full-time role in right field after he split time between the infield and outfield while Cronenworth was out of commission.

The Astros activated Allen (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Allen has missed the past three weeks with a left hamstring strain, but he's been cleared to rejoin the active roster after playing two rehab games with Triple-A Sugar Land. The 27-year-old is expected to operate as a reserve infielder, though he'll start at shortstop and bat eighth in Monday's series opener versus the Twins while Jeremy Pena takes a seat due to leg discomfort, per Chandler Rome of The Athletic.

Suarez (wrist) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Suarez went 0-for-2 before exiting Sunday's 9-4 loss to the Pirates after being hit in the left wrist by a pitch in the sixth inning. According to Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Suarez said that X-rays and a CT scan on his wrist both returned negative, leaving him optimistic that he'll be "ready to go" for the Reds' four-game set in Milwaukee. The Reds will keep him on the bench for the series opener, however, as Elly De La Cruz gets a night off from playing shortstop while he manages a sprained ankle but sticks in the starting nine at Suarez's usual spot at designated hitter.
