Garcia (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Cincinnati.

Garcia will miss a third straight start as he battles a right hamstring strain. A decision regarding a stint on the 10-day injured list for Garcia should be made imminently. Nick Loftin is handling third base for the Royals on Tuesday.

Crews (hand) is starting in right field and batting sixth Tuesday against the Marlins, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

Crews sat out the past two games after being hit by a pitch on the hand Saturday, but he's back in action Tuesday after the swelling in his hand subsided. Since being called up by Washington in mid-May, the 24-year-old is slashing .220/.256/.317 with one home run and one steal in 43 plate appearances.

Reds manager Terry Francona said Tuesday that Paddack could be available out of the bullpen as soon as Wednesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

As long as Rhett Lowder's (shoulder) rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday goes well, he will slide back into the Reds' rotation and push Paddack to a relief role. Paddack has collected a 6.90 ERA and 35:17 K:BB over 45.2 innings between the Marlins and Reds this season.

Priester's (shoulder) rehab assignment has been transferred from Triple-A Nashville to the Brewers' Arizona Complex League team, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Working his way back from thoracic outlet syndrome, Priester struggled again in his last rehab outing with Nashville, as he was charged with three runs while recording only two outs. In six rehab starts between Nashville and High-A Wisconsin, Priester holds a 21.60 ERA, 3.60 WHIP and 10:17 K:BB in 10 innings. By sending him to the ACL, the Brewers will have more control over Priester's workload in a less stressful setting. McCalvy writes that doctors "continue to believe, for now," that Priester doesn't need season-ending surgery, but that stance might have to be re-evaluated if the righty doesn't show improvement.

Myers (illness) is starting in center field and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Royals.

The 30-year-old was scratched from the lineup Saturday due to an illness and also sat out Sunday and Monday, but he's good to go Tuesday against Kansas City lefty Noah Cameron. Myers has been solid as a short-side platoon player this year with three homers, two steals and a .749 OPS in 96 plate appearances.

Rafaela (back) is starting in center field and batting second Tuesday against the Orioles, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

The center fielder was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Guardians due to lower-back soreness, but he's apparently in the clear coming off Monday's team day off. Rafaela finished May on a bit of a cold streak with a .671 OPS over his past eight games, but he still has a .275/.340/.430 slash line through 212 plate appearances on the season.

The Phillies optioned Hoffman to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

Hoffman made one appearance during his most recent stint with the big club, getting charged with one run over 1.1 innings. He's exiting the active roster in order to make space for Aaron Nola's return from paternity leave.

The Phillies activated Nola from the paternity leave list Tuesday.

Nola was away from the club over the weekend as he welcomed a new addition to the family. He's slated to start Tuesday's series opener against the Padres.

Contreras (wrist) is starting at first base and batting cleanup Tuesday against the Orioles, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

The veteran slugger was held out of Sunday's starting nine due to a nagging hand/wrist injury, but he's good to go after Monday's team off day. Contreras was on fire over the second half of May, collecting six extra-base hits (three home runs), 10 RBI and a .408/.463/.694 slash line over his last 14 games of the month.

The Reds designated Richardson for assignment Tuesday.

Richardson served as the opener Monday versus Kansas City and took the loss after surrendering four runs over one inning, and he's now been removed from both the 26-man and 40-man rosters. Brandon Leibrandt was also DFA'd, opening up roster space for the promotions of Zach McCambley and Luis Mey.
