The Diamondbacks transferred Santana (thigh) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The transaction frees up space on the 40-man roster for first baseman/designated hitter Pavin Smith (elbow), who was reinstated from the 60-day IL. Santana was pulled off his rehab assignment in mid-May after suffering a setback with his right adductor strain and remains without a timeline for a return.

The Giants designated Porter for assignment Monday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Porter has appeared in five major-league games for the Giants this season but has spent most of 2026 in Triple-A, where he is slashing .241/.292/.362 with one home run and 10 RBI across 65 plate appearances. With Porter DFA'd and Joel Peguero (hamstring) placed on the 60-day injured list, both transactions opened up spots on the 40-man roster for Wilkin Ramos and Buddy Kennedy.

The Giants optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A following Sunday's game against the Rockies, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Rodriguez has provided depth at catcher and in the outfield since being recalled from Sacramento in early May, and in 14 major-league games, he went 9-for-39 (.231 average) with one steal, two home runs and seven RBI. Since his opportunities had dried up a bit with San Francisco of late, Rodriguez will head back to Triple-A in order to see steadier playing time.

The Giants placed Peguero on the 60-day injured list Monday due to a left hamstring strain, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Peguero strained his left hamstring during the eighth inning of Sunday's win over the Rockies. The injury is severe enough for Peguero to go straight onto the 60-day IL, which means the earliest he's eligible to be reinstated is July 31. Wilkin Ramos was called up from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.

The Giants selected Kennedy's contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Kennedy has had a dynamite season with Sacramento, slashing .321/.424/.543 with eight home runs, five steals and a 27:27 BB:K over 48 games. The 27-year-old is likely slated for a reserve infielder role in San Francisco.

Lockridge (knee) will attempt to run at 85-to-90 percent intensity Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

If he bounces back well from that, Lockridge will be one of the hitters against Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) in a simulated game Wednesday. Lockridge has been shelved since early May with a deep laceration in his right knee and will likely require a rehab assignment before rejoining the active roster.

Woodruff (shoulder) will throw a three-up live batting practice session Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

He's expected to throw around 60 pitches in the outing. He could be cleared to rejoin the Brewers' rotation after that, though it's also possible they'll ask him to make a rehab start. Woodruff has been sidelined since late April because of right shoulder inflammation.

Sandlin is slated to start Monday's game against the Twins at Target Field.

As expected, Sandlin will receive a second straight turn through the Chicago rotation after an impressive showing in his MLB debut last Wednesday versus the same Twins squad at Rate Field. The 25-year-old righty picked up a win and struck out four batters while issuing no walks and limiting Minnesota to just one hit (a solo home run) over six innings. Sandlin was pulled from the game after throwing just 61 pitches, and considering that he didn't cover more than four frames in any of his six minor-league appearances prior to his call-up, the White Sox seem likely to manage his workload carefully in future starts.

Marlins manager Clayton McCollough confirmed that Gusto will be recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville and pitch in Tuesday's game versus the Nationals, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.

Gusto will likely either make a traditional start or serve in a bulk relief role against the Nationals. The Marlins could need Gusto for multiple starts as they navigate the losses of Eury Perez (hamstring) and Janson Junk (shin). Gusto has collected a 3.63 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 45:16 K:BB in 39.2 innings for Jacksonville this season.

Twins manager Derek Shelton said Monday that Sands (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Theodore Tollefson of Zone Coverage reports.

Sands hasn't pitched in more than a month as he recovers from a right forearm strain, but he'll be ready to take a big step forward Tuesday. He will likely require at least a couple rehab appearances before rejoining the active roster. Once he does return, Sands should be thrown back into the late-inning mix as part of an unsettled Twins bullpen.
