Romo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Romo will retreat to the bench after he started behind the plate in the first two games of the series and went 1-for-7 with a home run and two RBI between those contests. Edgar Quero will handle catching duties Wednesday, forming a battery with right-hander David Sandlin.

McLain is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

The Reds will give Spencer Steer a look at second base while McLain takes a seat after starting in the team's last three games. Though McLain has most commonly been deployed out of the No. 2 spot this season, he's made his last two starts as the Reds' No. 9 hitter while manager Terry Francona has handed the hot-hitting Blake Dunn more opportunities near the top of the lineup. McLain's slide down the batting order coincides with him recording just three hits and striking out 11 times in 34 at-bats over his last eight games.

Benson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

The left-handed-hitting Benson will be on the bench for the fourth time in five games, with three of those absences coming against right-handed starting pitchers. At this point, Benson appears to have faded into a reserve role while the Reds have opened up more playing time in the outfield lately for Blake Dunn and Spencer Steer. The decline in opportunities comes while Benson has slashed just .091/.259/.091 with a 37 percent strikeout rate over his last 11 games.

Triple-A Durham activated Driscoll (ankle) from its 7-day injured list Friday and assigned him to Single-A Charleston.

Driscoll, who opened the year on the injured list, completed a rehab assignment with the Florida Complex League Rays and then Charleston before being reinstated. The 28-year-old catcher is under a minor-league contract with Tampa Bay and has made seven appearances for the Single-A club overall, batting .231 with three extra-base hits, five RBI and one walk across 28 plate appearances.

Leon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Though he'll be on the bench Wednesday, Leon has seen the bulk of the work behind the plate since Drake Baldwin (oblique) joined Sean Murphy (finger) on the injured list May 19. Over Atlanta's ensuing eight games, Leon has made five starts to Chadwick Tromp's three. Even if that trend persists, Leon -- a career .206 hitter in parts of 14 big-league seasons -- shouldn't be considered a viable fantasy option.

Sandoval (biceps/elbow) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Wednesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Sandoval will next progress to a live batting practice session Saturday, which will be the first time he's faced hitters since experiencing a setback in the form of a biceps issue in late April. The left-hander initially went on the injured list before the season as he continued his recovery from internal brace surgery. Sandoval noted Wednesday that he has a timetable in mind for a return, but he declined to divulge what it is. He threw 5.1 rehab innings before the setback and will need to restart a rehab assignment once he's deemed game-ready.

Melendez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The left-handed-hitting Melendez will take a seat for the second time in the series while the Reds send another lefty (Andrew Abbott) to the bump. Eric Wagaman will step in for Melendez as the Mets' designated hitter and will bat seventh.

Vierling is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Vierling will get a breather Wednesday after he started in each of the Tigers' previous three games, including both ends of a doubleheader Sunday. Wenceel Perez will replace Vierling in center field and will bat seventh.

Perez was removed after four innings in his start Wednesday against the Blue Jays due to a right hamstring spasm, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Before abruptly leaving the game, Perez was cruising along to his best start of the season. He held the Blue Jays off the board through the first four innings, allowing just three hits -- all singles -- and no walks while recording a season-high nine punchouts. According to Hazel Mae of Sportsnet, Perez appeared to suffer the injury while doing some stretching prior to the fifth inning and needed assistance to get down the steps in the Miami dugout before heading to the clubhouse. The Marlins should have more information on the severity of Perez's injury in the days to come, but the fact that his hamstring issue is being listed as a spasm rather than a strain offers hope that he'll avoid missing his next start, which is tentatively set for next Tuesday in Washington.

Narvaez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Narvaez will take a seat for the second day in a row and for the third time in the last four games. Mickey Gasper is drawing a second straight start at catcher Wednesday, and the Red Sox also have Connor Wong on hand to vie for playing time at the position. Even if Narvaez remains the Red Sox's nominal No. 1 catcher, he'll need to earn a greater share of the playing time to have any chance at making a more meaningful impact for fantasy owners. Through 35 games this season, Narvaez is hitting .218 with two home runs, one stolen base, 13 runs and three RBI.
