Suarez was removed from Sunday's start against the Astros due to right hamstring tightness, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Suarez fired four scoreless frames before being forced to depart due to the injury. The severity of the issue isn't yet known, but that fact it isn't an arm injury is an encouraging development. The left-hander's status for his next turn through the rotation, which lines up for next weekend at home versus the Rays, remains unclear.

Martinez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

He'll head to the bench for the second time in the series while the Guardians go with Steven Kwan, Petey Halpin and Chase DeLauter as their starting outfield from left to right. During his lone start in Sacramento, Martinez went 3-for-6 with a run scored in Saturday's 14-6 win, lifting his season average up to .275.

Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Naylor had started in each of the Guardians' last six matchups with right-handed pitchers, but he'll hit the bench Sunday against Athletics righty Aaron Civale. The Guardians may have just wanted to reward Austin Hedges with a second consecutive start after the defensive-minded backstop provided a rare impact at the dish in Saturday's 14-6 win with three extra-base hits.

The Yankees announced that Rice was removed from Sunday's game against the Orioles due to a left hand contusion. He went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run prior to his departure.

Paul Goldschmidt checked in for Rice at first base in the top of the fourth inning after Rice injured his hand while playing defense on a pickoff attempt an inning prior. X-rays on Rice's hand returned negative, but the bruise could still present enough pain to keep him from playing for a few days. The Yankees are listing Rice as day-to-day heading into Monday's series finale.

The Padres placed Marquez on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right forearm nerve irritation.

Marquez surrendered seven runs over five innings in his most recent start Friday against the White Sox and will now spend at least the next couple weeks on the IL. Griffin Canning (Achilles) was reinstated from the IL in a corresponding move and will take Marquez's spot in the rotation beginning with Sunday's series finale versus Chicago.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Saturday that Pushard (knee) will need "several more" rehab appearances at Triple-A Memphis before being activated from the 10-day injured list, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Pushard, who was a Rule 5 pick, has made six rehab appearances so far, allowing six runs (four earned) with a 2:3 K:BB over 6.2 innings. Marmol said that Pushard's future outings will mimic how he's expected to be used in the majors, which will likely include some multi-inning appearances. Pushard's 30-day rehab window will run out in mid-May, so the team will have to make a decision at that point whether to activate him. The 28-year-old is working his way back from right knee tendinitis.

Heineman went 0-for-3 before being removed from Sunday's game against the Twins in the bottom of the sixth due to an apparent injury, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

The Blue Jays haven't confirmed that Heineman is hurt, but the fact that he batted with the bases loaded in the top of the frame before being replaced by Brandon Valenzuela behind the dish in the bottom of the inning indicates that Heineman is likely dealing with a physical concern. Heineman and Valenzuela have been splitting time at catcher since Alejandro Kirk (thumb) landed on the injured list April 4.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Saturday that Nootbaar (heels) is on track to begin a rehab assignment as soon as the week of May 10, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Nootbaar has been taking live batting practice and going through running drills at the team's spring training complex in Florida and is almost ready to test out his surgically repaired heels in official game action. It will essentially be his spring training when he does start playing in games, so Nootbaar will need a significant amount of rehab action. The goal is for the 28-year-old outfielder to be ready for his season debut by late May or early June. Nootbaar will likely take over as the Cardinals' everyday left fielder when he returns to the active roster.

Garcia was removed in the top of the sixth inning of Sunday's game against the Brewers due to right wrist soreness.

Curtis Mead checked into the game at first base in place of Garcia, who went 0-for-2 with a strikeout prior to his exit. The Nationals could have an update on Garcia's condition after the game, but for the time being, he can be viewed as day-to-day heading into Tuesday's series opener versus the Twins.
