  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Heading to bench Sunday

Bogaerts is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Bogaerts will hit the bench for the first time since July 6 in what appears to be a routine day off. Sung-Mun Song will draw the start at shortstop in place of Bogaerts.

  • Luis Robert CF | NYM

Mets' Luis Robert: Taking seat Sunday

Robert is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Since being activated from the 60-day injured list Monday, Robert has started four of six games while going 2-for-15 with a pair of solo home runs, two walks and an additional run. New York may continue to manage Robert's workload coming off his extended absence, but the 28-year-old should still be in line for a near-everyday role in the outfield now that he's healthy.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

    Mets' Marcus Semien: Idle Sunday

Semien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Semien appears to be receiving a routine day off after he went 2-for-14 with a solo home run and a walk while starting the previous four games. Brett Baty will step in for Semien at second base and bat eighth Sunday.

  • Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Heading to bench Sunday

Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Alvarez will receive a routine day off after he had started at catcher the previous three games. Luis Torrens will step in for Alvarez behind the dish in Sunday's series finale.

  • Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Taking seat Sunday

Rushing is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Rushing will rest up for Sunday's afternoon game after he had started behind the plate in each of the previous three games. Eliezer Alfonzo will handle catching duties for the Dodgers.

  • Royals' Andrew Velazquez: Gaining traction in middle infield

Velazquez will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Since he was called up from Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday after Bobby Witt (back) was placed on the injured list, Velazquez has started four of the Royals' ensuing five games. He'll be filling in Sunday at the keystone for Michael Massey, but Velazquez could end up being the preferred option at shortstop over Tyler Tolbert while Witt is on the mend. Velazquez has gone 1-for-9 with a stolen base through his first three contests with Kansas City.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Idle against southpaw

Massey is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

After starting the Royals' previous six games, the left-handed hitter will retreat to the bench Sunday while southpaw Framber Valdez toes the rubber for the Tigers. Andrew Velazquez will check in for Massey at second base and bat ninth, with Tyler Tolbert manning shortstop.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Resting up Sunday

Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Pasquantino will be given the afternoon off after he went 8-for-21 with three runs and one RBI while starting in the Royals' previous six games. Salvador Perez will replace Pasquantino at first base.

  • Henry Davis C | PIT

    Pirates' Henry Davis: Resting Sunday

Davis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Davis will receive a breather for the afternoon contest after starting the first two games of the series. Shawn Ross will pick up his first MLB start at catcher Sunday while Davis rests.

  • Javier Sanoja 3B | MIA

Marlins' Javier Sanoja: Out of Sunday's lineup

Sanoja is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Sanoja started the previous six games and will head to the bench Sunday after going 3-for-14 with two walks and six strikeouts during that span. Graham Pauley will step in at the hot corner in the series finale versus San Diego while batting eighth.
