Butler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Butler will see a four-game starting streak come to an end as southpaw Connor Prielipp toes the rubber for the Twins. Since the start of July, Butler is slashing just .196/.344/.275 with zero home runs, zero steals, five runs and four RBI in 18 games.

Thomas (wrist) will start in right field and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Twins.

Thomas suffered an injury scare in the Athletics' 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks on Monday, when he was struck in the left wrist by a pitch. He was fortunate to avoid any structural damage, but he dealt with a painful bruise that kept him on the bench for the ensuing four contests. Thomas is back in the starting nine Sunday against Twins southpaw Connor Prielipp and should continue to hold down the short side of a platoon in the Athletics outfield now that he's moved past the wrist issue.

The Twins placed Paredes (oblique) on the 15-day injured list Sunday.

The right-hander was scheduled to start Saturday against the A's but was scratched due to an oblique issue, and he'll now be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. A longer absence wouldn't be surprising for Paredes given the nature of the injury.

White will start at third base and bat fifth In Sunday's game against the Twins.

White will remain in the lineup for a seventh straight game after going 7-for-23 (.304) with two walks and two runs over his previous six starts. He's expected to continue handling an everyday role at the hot corner until the Athletics get either Zack Gelof (knee) or Joshua Kuroda-Grauer (testicle) back from the injured list.

Walton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Walton will hit the bench while southpaw Connor Prielipp toes the rubber for the Twins, but the left-handed hitter should play regularly versus right-handed pitching until Zack Gelof (knee) or Joshua Kuroda-Grauer (testicle) return from the injured list. Since joining the Athletics on July 12, Walton has gone 2-for-16 with a 7:5 BB:K and five runs in eight games.

The Twins optioned Anderson to Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

Anderson was called up by Minnesota on Tuesday shortly after being claimed off waivers from Boston and was busy during his brief time in the majors, delivering three scoreless appearances and picking up a save. The right-hander seems likely to get another look before the end of the campaign, especially if the Twins offload any pitchers at the trade deadline.

MItchell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

With southpaw Kyle Freeland on the mound for the Rockies in the series finale, Mitchell will be given the afternoon off. Luis Lara will receive the nod in center field in place of Mitchell, who slashed .271/.340/.375 with zero home runs, one steal, five RBI and seven runs while starting the last 13 games.

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

After making his return from the injured list Friday, the left-handed hitter went 1-for-7 with a stolen base over two games against right-handed starters. Hamilton will head to the bench Sunday while southpaw Kyle Freeland toes the rubber for Colorado. Hamilton could be in store for a part-time role versus righties, however, as Joey Ortiz has made a case for more opportunities at the hot corner. Since the start of July, Ortiz has produced a .921 OPS over 20 games.

Tovar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Tovar will hit the bench for the second time in four games while the Rockies go with Willi Castro at shortstop in the series finale in Milwaukee. Since matching a season high with three hits in a July 3 win over the Giants, Tovar has gone 5-for-46 (.109) with two extra-base hits, zero stolen bases, five runs and two RBI over a stretch of 15 games.

Lee is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels due to a sore elbow, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Lee was removed from Saturday's 9-2 win shortly after he was struck in the elbow by a pitch in the seventh inning. Though delos Santos notes that Lee was wearing a guard on his elbow that absorbed most of the impact, the outfielder is still dealing with some residual soreness and will be given the afternoon off. Grant McCray will fill in for Lee in right field.
