Arrighetti is expected to work in bulk relief behind an opener Sunday versus Kansas City, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Arrighetti is slated to work behind an opener for the third time in what will be his fourth outing since joining Toronto. The right-hander has struggled as a member of the Blue Jays regardless of his role, as he's given up nine runs (eight earned) over 11 innings so far. Zwelling suggests that Arrighetti will be available for up to 85 pitches Sunday. It's unclear who will serve as the opener, but Spencer Miles worked in that capacity for Arrighetti's last appearance and may do the same Sunday.

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Pirates.

The 28-year-old launched a 410-foot blast off Braxton Ashcraft in the fifth inning. It was Lowe's first extra-base hit since he doubled Aug. 24, and he entered Saturday just 3-for-18 over eight games during that stretch. On the season, he's slashing .210/.273/.360 with 11 homers, 28 RBI, 26 runs scored and seven stolen bases across 295 plate appearances.

Reynolds went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Angels.

Reynolds was the lone bright spot for the Pirates, reaching base in each of his plate appearances and launching a 421-foot blast in the eighth inning. While the long ball was the 31-year-old's first since July 28, he's hit safely in six of his past seven games with four multi-hit efforts. On the year, he's slashing .267/.373/.429 with 16 home runs, 67 RBI, 96 runs scored and nine steals across 624 plate appearances.

Messick (11-9) took the loss against the Tigers on Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks with 12 strikeouts over six innings.

The 25-year-old generated 19 whiffs on 103 pitches and tallied a career-high 12 strikeouts but was unable to solve Riley Greene, who homered twice and laced an RBI single off the southpaw. Despite the loss, Messick has now delivered a quality start in six of his nine outings since the All-Star break, posting a 2.13 ERA in that span. He'll take a 2.53 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 173:45 K:BB across 167 innings this season into a road matchup with the Twins next weekend.

Valdez (9-10) earned the win against the Guardians on Saturday, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out three over seven scoreless innings.

Valdez was given a lead in the first inning and cruised from there, throwing 60 of 94 pitches for strikes while allowing only singles despite inducing just five whiffs. The 32-year-old has now delivered three straight quality starts, though he's recorded just eight punchouts during that stretch. He'll take a 4.17 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 119:58 K:BB across 157.2 innings this season into a home matchup with the Rockies next weekend.

Trout was removed from Saturday's game versus Pittsburgh after being hit by a pitch on the hand, Erica Weston of Angels Broadcast Television reports.

Trout went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI over his first four plate appearances before being hit on the hand with a pitch in the top of the ninth inning. The veteran outfielder was then replaced by Jose Siri on the basepaths. Trout underwent X-rays on his hand that came back clean, per Weston. It's not yet clear if Trout will be in the lineup Sunday for the series finale.

Greene went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Guardians.

Greene drove in runs in four separate plate appearances, highlighted by his second multi-homer effort of the campaign. It was a much-needed performance for the 25-year-old, who entered the contest just 1-for-13 in three games since returning from the injured list Tuesday. On the season, he's slashing .273/.364/.461 with 18 home runs, 60 RBI, 69 runs scored and three steals across 511 plate appearances.

Ohtani (biceps/knee) is slated to hit in the batting cage Saturday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Ohtani is out of the lineup for the third straight day Saturday as he deals with right biceps soreness and lingering left knee inflammation. To this point, the Dodgers have hesitated from putting him on the injured list, and how Ohtani feels during and after Saturday's hitting session could go a long way toward determining his timeline to return. Katie Woo of The Athletic notes that should Ohtani be placed on the injured list, it will have to be the 15-day IL due to his status as a two-way player.

Diaz (neck) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Diaz last pitched for the Dodgers on Aug. 17, when he gave up three runs on four hits over one inning at Colorado. He landed on the injured list the next day with a diagnosis of neck inflammation. Diaz may not need an extended rehab stint, but even if he's fully recovered, he's expected to log lower-leverage work upon his return to the big-league club.

The Athletics recalled Perkins from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.

Perkins had just been optioned Friday, but he's back with the A's one day later as a result of J.T. Ginn (elbow) being placed on the 15-day injured list. Perkins may jump back into the team's rotation after starting in 13 of his first 33 appearances this season. The right-hander has a poor 6.50 ERA and 1.54 WHIP over 98.1 innings on the campaign, but he's been a little bit better of late and has logged a 2.70 ERA despite a 1.62 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB across his past four outings spanning 16.2 frames.
