Rogers worked a scoreless eighth inning Thursday to record his 30th hold of the season in a 6-3 win over the Guardians. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.

The veteran reliever hit Brayan Rocchio with a pitch, but it was otherwise an efficient appearance from Rogers, who needed just nine pitches (six strikes) to protect a 5-3 lead before the Blue Jays tacked on an insurance run in the top of the ninth. Rogers has reached 30 holds for a fourth straight season and the fifth time in his career, and he's got a strong chance of topping the career high of 33 he set with the Giants in 2024.

Bieber (shoulder) was scheduled to throw off flat ground Thursday, but he remains without a timeline for his return to game action, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

The Blue Jays have just 21 games left on their regular-season schedule, and it's looking increasingly likely that if Bieber pitches again this year, it will have to be in the playoffs. The veteran righty was just starting to find his form when he was shut down in late August with teres major inflammation, as he recorded four quality starts in seven outings after the All-Star break with a 2.84 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 38 innings.

Odle notched a career-high 12 strikeouts while yielding two runs over 4.2 innings Thursday in his final start of the season with High-A Peoria.

It's a fitting end to a season that saw Odle rack up 143 strikeouts over 96 innings between Single-A Palm Beach and Peoria. He also walked 65 batters, so Odle has some work to do from a control perspective, but the 22-year-old right-hander has big-time stuff and has established himself as a legitimate pitching prospect in the Cardinals' revamped system.

The Cardinals expect to activate Winn (thumb) from the 10-day injured list sometime during this weekend's series in Colorado, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Winn's return was considered for a series this week versus the Dodgers, but the Cardinals opted to have him go through another round of workouts instead. The shortstop could be activated as soon as Friday. Winn is working his way back from a small fracture in his left thumb.

Burnes (elbow) could make his season debut for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday in Kansas City, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.

Burnes suffered a setback this June in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, but he's progressed well since resuming a throwing program in July. The right-hander tossed two perfect innings on 17 pitches in his first rehab start with Triple-A Reno on Aug. 29, and after throwing a bullpen Tuesday he was slated to work a bridge game Thursday to further build his stamina. It's unclear how many pitches Burnes threw Thursday, but he would be quite limited from a workload perspective if he were activated to face the Royals. Once Burnes is officially tapped to return, he'll be making his first appearance in the big leagues in more than 15 months.

Houck (elbow) will throw a simulated game Friday, MLB.com reports.

This will be the second sim game for Houck, who threw one earlier this week at Boston's training complex in Fort Myers. Pending the outcome of Friday's session, Houck could begin a rehab assignment next week, and a return to the big-league bullpen late in the regular season is still on the table.

Anthony went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's 6-5 win over Baltimore.

Anthony's solo shot in the ninth inning upped Boston's lead to 6-3 and turned out to be the game-winning run after the Orioles scored twice in the bottom of the frame. He's homered in two consecutive games and hit safely in all five contests since being activated from the IL. Anthony is 10-for-22 with two doubles, one triple, two home runs, two RBI and five runs scored during that scorching stretch.

The Athletics list Morris as their starting pitcher for Friday's contest in Seattle.

Morris will be making his second start for the Athletics, after he was bludgeoned for nine runs over four-plus innings versus the Astros in his major-league debut in June. All four of his appearances with the Athletics since then have been in relief, with the last one coming Saturday, when he yielded one run while throwing 35 pitches in two innings against the Orioles. Morris isn't stretched out enough to handle a full workload, so the Athletics will need several innings from their bullpen Friday.

Feltner (illness) is listed as the Rockies' probable starter for Friday's game against the Cardinals.

Feltner was scratched ahead of his previous scheduled start last Saturday in Atlanta due to an illness, though he eventually appeared out of the bullpen and yielded just one unearned run over four innings. He's evidently recovered well since then and shouldn't be facing any workload restrictions versus St. Louis.

White went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Orioles.

White got the start in center field with Ceddanne Rafaela nursing a quadriceps injury sustained in Wednesday's contest. It was just the eighth start for White since being acquired from Atlanta at the trade deadline. Rafaela will be closely monitored over the coming days, but his quad issue doesn't seem to be serious.
