Dingler went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.

Getting the start at DH to keep his red-hot bat in the lineup, Dingler came through with an RBI single in the fifth inning to get Detroit on the board before he wrapped up the scoring with a solo shot off Trevor Richards in the seventh. Dingler has six multi-hit performances in the last 10 games, a stretch in which he's hitting a blistering .429 (18-for-42) with seven extra-base hits (three homers) along with nine RBI and 10 runs.

Jansen gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record his ninth save of the season in a 4-1 win over the White Sox. He failed to strike out a batter.

The veteran closer made things interesting by allowing the tying run to come to the plate with two outs, but Jansen got Drew Romo to fly out to center field to end the contest. Despite missing a couple weeks due to a pelvic issue, Jansen has been locked in since the beginning of May, getting scored upon in only one of his last 11 appearances while posting a 2.53 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB in 10.2 innings.

Melton (4-0) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on one hit and three walks over six innings in a 4-1 victory over the White Sox. He struck out five.

Sam Antonacci led off the game with a solo shot, and it proved to be the only hit Melton would give up over 84 pitches (46 strikes). The quality start was the right-hander's third in five trips to the mound since being activated from the IL in late May, and his spot in the rotation seems secure while Jack Flaherty (ankle) and Justin Verlander (hamstring) remain sidelined. Melton will take a 2.56 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB through 31.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Astros.

Newcomb didn't factor into the decision during Saturday's loss to the Tigers, throwing three perfect innings as the opener. He struck out four.

The veteran southpaw ended up staying in the game longer than any other White Sox pitcher in what became a true bullpen day, and Newcomb needed 42 pitches (28 strikes) to retire all nine batters he faced -- his biggest workload since April 22, when he tossed 44 pitches against the Diamondbacks. There's been no indication Chicago intends to stretch Newcomb out to be a regular starter or bulk reliever, as he's been too valuable in the bullpen. Through 45.1 innings over 29 appearances (one start) this season, he's delivered a 2.58 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 44:11 K:BB with five holds and a save.

Rodriguez (back) threw off flat ground in the bullpen Saturday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

The Angels placed Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list Monday due to low-back inflammation, but his MRI came back negative. The fact that Rodriguez hasn't been shut down from throwing provides further reason for optimism, though the team will likely proceed cautiously from here given his injury history. Rodriguez has gone 2-2 with an 8.06 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 24:15 K:BB in six starts and 25.2 innings for the big club so far this season.

Soler (oblique) took batting practice on the field Saturday and is nearing a rehab assignment, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Soler has been on the injured list since June 6 with a left oblique strain, but he has been able to ramp up his activity over the past week-plus. Prior to landing on the IL, Soler was said to be playing through a groin issue, which helps explain his struggles throughout the month of May (.571 OPS). Overall, Soler is slashing .220/.300/.402 with nine homers, 33 RBI and 28 runs scored across 243 plate appearances this season.

Lopez went 1-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Giants.

Lopez got things going early, stealing second base after reaching on an error in the first inning and scoring the game's first run. According to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, he then became the first player this season to reach 100 hits with a single in the fourth. The 27-year-old has hit safely in 14 of 17 June contests, batting .338 with seven extra-base hits, seven RBI, 15 runs scored and five stolen bases during that stretch. On the year, he leads the majors with a .332 average to go along with five homers, 32 RBI, 47 runs scored and 15 steals across 324 plate appearances.

The Dodgers recalled McDermott from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.

Acquired in a trade with the Orioles in April, McDermott made a lone appearance out of the Dodgers' bullpen during a prior stint with the big-league club. He has put up ugly ratios in the minors this season but has also struck out 30 batters in just 16.2 innings with Oklahoma City. McDermott replaces Blake Treinen (elbow) on the active roster.

The Dodgers placed Treinen on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to right elbow inflammation.

Treinen seemed to be rounding into form for the Dodgers, posting a 2.61 ERA and 1.16 WHIP to go along with three wins and a save over his last 13 appearances, but his campaign is now on hold due to the elbow injury. Chayce McDermott was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to replace Treinen on the active roster and in the Los Angeles bullpen.

Schmitt went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and two RBI in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Marlins.

Schmitt tied the game with a solo shot in the fourth inning before adding an RBI double in the eighth. He's now hit safely in six consecutive games, recording multiple hits five times with four extra-base hits, three RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases during that stretch. On the year, the 27-year-old is slashing .293/.322/.531 with 16 homers, 41 RBI, 34 runs scored and seven steals across 289 plate appearances.
