High-A Great Lakes placed Jang on the 7-day injured list Aug. 13 due to an unspecified injury.

Jang, 22, has posted a 5.38 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 106:30 K:BB over 80.1 innings between Great Lakes and Single-A Ontario this season.

The Marlins designated Jimenez for assignment Thursday.

Jimenez has struggled to a .199 batting average and .565 OPS across 194 plate appearances this season, and he'll now lose his place on both the active and 40-man rosters to make room for Deyvison De Los Santos. Jimenez has never been viewed as much of an offensive threat, but his defensive versatility could be valued by teams browsing the waiver wire for bench depth.

The Mets claimed Weston off waivers from the Orioles on Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.

Weston pitched a scoreless inning during his MLB debut back in May but owns a 7.89 ERA and 1.94 WHIP through 51.1 frames in the minors. The Mets will add the 26-year-old to their 40-man roster despite his poor performance and keep him at Triple-A, where he is likely to remain for the remainder of the season. Shawn Ross was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Volpe was lifted from a game at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday with a right forearm contusion, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Volpe initially remained in the contest after being hit by a pitch before eventually being removed. It's unclear whether Volpe required X-rays, but either way it seems he's avoided a serious injury. Volpe has performed well since being demoted in early August, slashing .276/.376/.632 with eight home runs over 23 contests. He's seen action at second and third base in addition to shortstop during that stretch.

Chourio went 4-for-6 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Wednesday's win over the Cubs.

Chourio stayed hot Wednesday, pushing his hitting streak up to seven games. The star outfielder has a pair of four-hit efforts over that stretch and has gone yard four times since the streak began. He's hitting .287 with 21 homers, 58 RBI, 15 stolen bases and 74 runs scored over 476 plate appearances.

Single-A Hill City reinstated Oakie (illness) from its 7-day injured list Aug. 27 and assigned him to High-A Lake County.

Oakie has made two appearances since joining Lake County, striking out four batters over four innings while giving up six earned runs on six hits and two walks. The 20-year-old righty posted a 7.15 ERA and 1.95 WHIP over 45.1 innings in 13 starts with Hill City before landing on the injured list July 8 due to a viral illness.

Scott took a blown save against St. Louis on Wednesday, when he allowed one run on one hit in one inning.

With the Dodgers clinging to a one-run lead in the eighth, manager Dave Roberts turned to Scott to face the heart of the Cardinals order. The lefty reliever gave up a leadoff double to Joshua Baez, and though Scott retired the following three batters, Baez came home to score the tying run on a sacrifice fly. The blown save was Scott's first since July 6 -- he had gone 8-for-8 on save chances while allowing only four runs over 18.1 frames spanning his past 20 appearances before Wednesday. Despite being deployed in the eighth inning against the Cardinals, Scott remains Los Angeles' top closing option in the absence of Edwin Diaz (neck), who is slated to initially work in lower leverage upon his eventual return.

Urias (elbow) entered as a pinch hitter and stayed in for defense in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers.

Urias had to be removed from Tuesday's game after he felt soreness in his elbow on a check swing. He's missed much of this season with tennis elbow in both arms and seems unlikely to be 100 percent at any point down the stretch, but Urias should be available again Thursday, if needed.

The Pirates recalled Curtis from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.

Curtis hasn't given up a run across eight innings covering two relief outings this season for the Pirates, and he's collected a 4.90 ERA and 108:48 K:BB in 86.1 innings between Double-A Altoona and Indianapolis. The 24-year-old is stretched out to provide length in the Pittsburgh bullpen, if needed.

The Giants announced Tuesday that Bericoto (knee) has begun a hitting and throwing progression and will start running later this week, MLB.com reports.

On the shelf since Aug. 24 due to a right knee bone bruise, Bericoto is eligible for activation at any point, but he looks like he still has a few more checkpoints to hit in his rehab program before rejoining the Giants. Bericoto appeared to have faded into the short side of a platoon in left field prior to landing on the injured list.
