Arrighetti will start Sunday's game in Kansas City, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

The Blue Jays had been considering deploying Arrighetti behind an opener for a second straight turn through the rotation, but the team now appears set to use the right-hander as a traditional starter in the series finale. Arrighetti has struggled to a 6.55 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with a 10:5 K:BB over 11 innings across three starts with Toronto, and he hasn't thrown more than 79 pitches in any of those outings.

Gray (17-4) earned the win against the Orioles on Saturday, allowing no runs on three hits and three walks in seven innings. He struck out seven.

Gray stayed dialed in Saturday, pitching at least five innings while yielding two runs or fewer for the fifth time in his last six starts. The veteran right-hander has been incredibly consistent all year long, conceding more than three earned runs just four times across 26 outings. He'll carry an excellent 2.69 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 135:40 K:BB over 150.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance versus the Royals.

Bassitt (6-5) took the loss against the Red Sox on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

Bassitt has provided the Orioles with steady length since coming off the injured list in mid-August, tossing at least 5.1 innings in five consecutive starts. However, the veteran right-hander continues to let plenty of traffic get aboard, allowing at least seven baserunners each time out during that stretch. He'll take a 4.96 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 61:33 K:BB over 85.1 innings into his next scheduled appearance versus Toronto.

DeGrom took a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out seven.

That makes it back-to-back starts for deGrom of at least six innings and two runs or fewer allowed. The veteran right-hander did serve up a pair of home runs Saturday, which is a bit surprising after he gave up just one homer in his prior nine outings. He'll try to further improve on a career-worst 3.96 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 174:38 K:BB over 143.1 innings in his next scheduled appearance versus the Diamondbacks.

Rasmussen took a no-decision against the Rangers on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and no walks in seven innings. He struck out seven.

Rasmussen continued to deal Saturday, firing at least six innings while giving up two runs or fewer for a third consecutive start. The right-hander has yielded fewer than five hits and three runs in all but one of his last eight outings. He'll bring a 2.88 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 156:27 K:BB over 153.1 innings into his next scheduled outing versus the Astros.

Ashcraft (14-6) took the loss against the Angels on Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over five innings.

Ashcraft opened with three scoreless frames but stumbled late, departing with a 3-0 deficit at just 67 pitches. The 26-year-old has now yielded three earned runs or fewer in seven straight outings, but he's exceeded 90 pitches just once in that span and appears to be having his workload limited down the stretch. He owns a 3.65 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 173:35 K:BB across 165.1 innings this season and lines up for a road matchup with the Cubs next weekend.

Hudson is slated to work as Chicago's opening pitcher Sunday versus Minnesota, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Hudson has gotten some opportunities as the closer recently, picking up two saves over his past four appearances. However, he'll be deployed in the opposite role Sunday, serving as the opener while likely handling just an inning or two. The White Sox haven't revealed their plans for once Hudson exits the game, but the team may ask Jose Urquidy to log a few frames out of the bullpen.

Kikuchi (1-5) earned the win against the Pirates on Saturday, allowing five hits and three walks while striking out six over six scoreless innings.

Kikuchi earned his first win since Sept. 24, 2025, throwing 58 of 89 pitches for strikes with 14 whiffs. The veteran southpaw has now logged two straight quality starts and owns a 3.50 ERA with a 16:5 K:BB over three outings since returning from the injured list Aug. 23. He'll carry a 4.96 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 49:19 K:BB across 49 innings this season into a road matchup with the Nationals next weekend.

Arrighetti is expected to work in bulk relief behind an opener Sunday versus Kansas City, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Arrighetti is slated to work behind an opener for the third time in what will be his fourth outing since joining Toronto. The right-hander has struggled as a member of the Blue Jays regardless of his role, as he's given up nine runs (eight earned) over 11 innings so far. Zwelling suggests that Arrighetti will be available for up to 85 pitches Sunday. It's unclear who will serve as the opener, but Spencer Miles worked in that capacity for Arrighetti's last appearance and may do the same Sunday.

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Pirates.

The 28-year-old launched a 410-foot blast off Braxton Ashcraft in the fifth inning. It was Lowe's first extra-base hit since he doubled Aug. 24, and he entered Saturday just 3-for-18 over eight games during that stretch. On the season, he's slashing .210/.273/.360 with 11 homers, 28 RBI, 26 runs scored and seven stolen bases across 295 plate appearances.
