Suzuki went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Tigers.

Suzuki provided all of Chicago's offense in the first inning when he delivered his 17th home run of the season. The talented outfielder has hit five of those long balls in 16 games this month, and he's sporting a robust .996 OPS in July. Suzuki seems poised to once again post big numbers as a key cog of Chicago's potent offensive attack.

Gamboa will remain with the Red Sox after serving as the 27th man during Wednesday's doubleheader against Baltimore, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.

Gamboa was originally expected to return to Triple-A Worcester after the conclusion of Wednesday's twin bill, but it'll instead be Eduardo Rivera who heads back to the minors to get Boston back within the 26-man limit. Gamboa pitched a scoreless inning Wednesday to bring his ERA down to 2.00 through nine frames, and he's likely to remain in a middle-relief role with Boston.

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Astros.

Hernandez has three multi-hit efforts over six games since the All-Star break, going 8-for-25 (.320) despite striking out 10 times in that span. He's also logged two steals since the break and has seven thefts on nine attempts this year. The outfielder is batting .246 with a .793 OPS, 13 home runs, 37 RBI, 25 runs scored, 10 doubles and one triple over 254 plate appearances. Hernandez is seeing steady playing time as Miami's primary left fielder.

Ruiz went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Astros.

Ruiz's playing time remains fairly sparse. That hasn't stopped him from racking up six steals over 13 contests in July despite going just 5-for-25 (.200) at the plate this month. The speedy outfielder is now batting .243 with an .836 OPS, five home runs, 22 steals, 10 RBI and 25 runs scored across 128 plate appearances. He doesn't have an everyday spot in the lineup but has seen fairly steady playing time versus left-handers recently.

Jansen tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Cubs. He walked one and struck out one.

Jansen was used in the ninth inning to close things out for the Tigers, though it wasn't a save situation due to the four-run lead. The veteran has righted the ship after a rough patch in May and June, as he's now logged seven straight scoreless appearances, during which he's recorded a win and two saves. Overall, Jansen has a 4.05 ERA and 30 strikeouts across 26.2 innings this season, and he leads Detroit with 11 saves.

Ober took a no-decision Wednesday against the Guardians, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out two across four innings.

Ober dealt with a lot of traffic on the basepaths, which led to Cleveland manufacturing four runs without any extra-base hits against him. The 31-year-old threw 89 pitches, which marks his highest total since coming back from the elbow injury in early July. The righty has a 4.40 ERA,1.40 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB over 14.1 frames since coming off the IL. He lines up for a matchup against Kansas City next week.

Alcantara (10-6) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three over seven-plus innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Astros.

Alcantara had limited the damage to two runs through seven frames, but he gave up three more runs on homers by Yordan Alvarez and Isaac Paredes in the eighth. Alcantara has gone at least six frames in all four of his starts in July, allowing 10 runs over 28 innings with a 26:6 K:BB this month. For the season, the veteran right-hander has a 4.01 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 110:38 K:BB across 143.2 innings through 22 outings. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Phillies.

Iglesias secured the save Wednesday against San Diego, allowing one run on one hit and no walks in two-thirds of an inning. He struck out two.

Atlanta summoned Victor Mederos to record the final three outs of a 7-1 game, but he coughed up four runs to create a save situation in the ninth inning. Iglesias was shaky himself, serving up a solo home run to Luis Rengifo but held on to put out the fire. Although Iglesias has blown just one save and sports a 2.57 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 40:7 K:BB with 20 saves over 35 innings in 2026, he has given up 10 runs across his last 19.1 frames after opening the year with a scoreless streak of 15.2 innings.

Paredes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Marlins.

Paredes has homered in consecutive contests. He's also on an eight-game hitting streak, having gone 12-for-31 (.387) with seven RBI in that span. The third baseman is now batting .263 with a .792 OPS, 14 long balls, 54 RBI, 42 runs scored, 18 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases over 97 contests in a near-everyday role.

The Red Sox optioned Rivera to Triple-A Worcester following Wednesday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Rivera drew the start in the second game of the twin bill but was unable to escape the first inning, coughing up four runs on three hits and two walks while recording two outs in 41 pitches. His demotion will free up a spot in the rotation that will likely be filled by Ranger Suarez (groin/illness) during Boston's upcoming series against Toronto. Until then, Alec Gamboa will remain with the big club to provide additional depth to the bullpen.
