Snell (elbow) will return from the 60-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Royals in Los Angeles, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Snell will receive the green light to return to the Dodgers rotation after making four rehab starts in the minors, during which he posted a 3.09 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB across 11.2 innings. Although his final outing at Triple-A lasted just 3.2 frames, the 33-year-old southpaw managed to build up to 73 pitches, so the Dodgers may not place a significant restriction on his workload as he makes what will be just his second start in the majors this season.

Lee is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.

Left out of the lineup for the fourth game in a row, Lee has shifted to a bench role since Detroit promoted top prospect Max Clark from Triple-A Toledo a week ago. With Clark taking over as the Tigers' everyday center fielder, Javier Baez has picked up each of his last five starts at shortstop, which has left no room in the infield for Lee. Lee put together a 12-game hitting streak from July 9 through July 27, but since then, he's gone just 1-for-12 at the dish.

Mayer (forearm) could be cleared to begin a rehab assignment next week, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Mayer landed on the injured list in late June due to a stress reaction in his left forearm. He has since been traded from Boston to San Francisco and now seems to be on the verge of making his organizational debut following multiple weeks of hitting and fielding drills. Because he's been on the shelf for more than a month, he'll likely require a handful of reps in the minors before being cleared to play his first game as a Giant.

The Blue Jays optioned Lee to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

The move makes room on the Blue Jays' 26-man roster for newcomer Matt Waldron. Lee appeared in two games out of Toronto's bullpen after being recalled Wednesday, allowing one unearned run on one hit and one walk while striking out one batter across two frames. He has spent most of the 2026 season in Triple-A, where he has a 2.20 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, five saves and a 40:18 K:BB over 45 innings.

France isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Houston, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

France will catch a breather after recording three hits, an RBI and a run across his last two games. Jake Cronenworth will shift to first base while France sits, allowing Sung-Mun Song to start at second base.

Chapman (abdomen) will undergo season-ending surgery Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Chapman will go under the knife to address a hernia that he played through for most of the season. The timing of the procedure will cause him to miss the remainder of the year, so the 33-year-old will close the book on a disappointing 2026 campaign in which he slashed .235/.324/.368 with seven homers, 42 RBI and 35 runs scored across 352 plate appearances. Christian Koss figures to serve as San Francisco's primary third baseman the rest of the way.

Mullins is not in the Rays' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Even though the Mariners are sending right-hander Logan Gilbert to the mound, the lefty-hitting Mullins will open Friday's game on the bench while Jonny DeLuca starts in center field and bats sixth. Mullins has gone 12-for-53 (.226) with three steals (in four attempts), two home runs, five RBI and 10 runs scored since the All-Star break.

Alexander played catch Friday for the first time since sustaining a fractured left hand before the All-Star break, Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com reports.

Alexander told reporters after Friday's session that he's hoping to progress to a hitting program next week when the Orioles are in Minnesota for a three-game series against the Twins. Baltimore should have a better sense of Alexander's recovery timeline once he's cleared to take the next step in his recovery. He was in the midst of a strong 2026 season prior to his injury with an .807 OPS, nine steals (in 12 attempts), four home runs and 29 RBI over 244 plate appearances.

Manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Puk (elbow/shoulder) will remain shut down for the remainder of the season, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Puk suffered a shoulder capsule sprain while pitching in a rehab game in June, and MRI results revealed in July that he still hadn't fully recovered from the injury. After seeking out a second opinion, the left-hander is now officially set to miss the entire 2026 campaign. Puk will become a free agent this coming offseason and will shift his focus toward getting healthy for the start of 2027.

The Giants selected Harris' contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.

Harris has posted a 3.12 ERA and 1.37 WHIP alongside a 52:18 K:BB over 40.1 innings while spending the entire season at Triple-A. The 27-year-old's strong performance in a hitter-friendly league will now buy him a look with the big club, replacing Tristan Beck in the Giants' bullpen. Harris will be making his MLB debut whenever he gets into a game.
