Hunter Greene SP | CIN
Reds' Hunter Greene: Slated for another elbow surgery
Reds president of baseball operations Nick Krall said Friday that Greene has been diagnosed with a partial UCL tear in his right elbow and will undergo surgery next week, Brian Giesenschlag of Reds Live reports.
The exact nature of the procedure will not be known until the operation is performed. Greene previously had Tommy John surgery in 2019 and underwent surgery in March to have bone chips removed from his elbow. Even if Greene doesn't require another full Tommy John repair, he will be in danger of missing a large portion of the 2027 season. The 27-year-old made only five starts this year after being limited to 19 starts in 2025.

Travis Bazzana 2B | CLE
Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Sitting against lefty Friday
Bazzana is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the White Sox.
With left-hander Noah Schultz on the mound for Chicago, Bazzana will get the night off. Angel Genao is making the start at second base and batting ninth for Cleveland. Bazzana is batting .188 with a .537 OPS against left-handed pitching as a rookie, and with the Guardians' additions in the past week, it appears he could be getting fewer at-bats against southpaws down the stretch.

Bummer faced 11 batters but recorded just four outs, allowing six runs on six hits and one walk with no strikeouts. He'll try to find work elsewhere rather than heading to Omaha.
