Spillane is in line to sign with the Patriots, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Spillane led the Raiders in tackles over the past two seasons, starting all 17 of the team's regular-season games in both years. Now, the reliable inside linebacker is positioned to bolster New England's defense, a unit in serious need of a top tackler to anchor it. In new head coach Mike Vrabel's defensive scheme, Spillane remains a strong candidate to repeat as a productive fantasy asset in IDP formats for 2025.

Spillane tallied 158 total tackles (91 solo), including 2.0 sacks, and seven passes defended (with two interceptions) across 17 regular-season games in 2024. Spillane has been one of the NFL's most productive inside linebackers over the last two years, recording the fourth-most total tackles (306) in the league along with 11 passes defended, including five interceptions, during that span. He's now led the Raiders' defense in tackles each of the last two seasons while also ranking second in tackles for loss and fourth in passes defended in 2024. The 29-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and is likely to demand a high salary for 2025, having established himself as one of the league's top tacklers.

Spillane finished Sunday's 25-10 win over the Saints with eight tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, and two pass defenses. Spillane led the Raiders in tackling Sunday, and he registered his second sack of the season when he took down Spencer Rattler for a 10-yard loss late in the third quarter, which forced the Saints to punt on the next play. Spillane played every single defensive snap, which he has done in 13 of 16 regular-season games. He's up to 142 combined tackles on the season, and he'll have an opportunity to break his career high set in 2023 (148 combined tackles through 17 regular-season games) against the Chargers on Sunday.

Spillane registered seven tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 28-13 loss to Tampa Bay. Spillane tied Darnay Holmes for the second-most tackles on the Raiders on Sunday behind Tre'von Moehrig (eight). Spillane has played every single defensive snap in the four games since the Raiders' Week 10 bye and has done so in 11 of 13 regular-season contests. He's up to 118 tackles (72 solo), including 1.0 sacks and four pass defenses, including one interception.
