Banks totaled 52 tackles (39 solo) along with 12 defensed passes and one forced fumble in 14 games (all starts) during the 2024 campaign. Banks missed three games late in the season due to an injury to his ribs, but he started all 14 games for which he was active. His tackle total was slightly lower than the amount he logged (64) during his rookie 2023 campaign, but Banks did increase his number of defensed passes by one, and his total of 12 paced the Giants and tied for 18th in the NFL. Banks had some struggles during the campaign and was benched for the second half of Week 8 against Pittsburgh due to a perceived lack of effort, but the Giants invested a lot in him as a first-round selection in the 2023 draft, and he'll likely be back in a starting role in 2025, when he'll be in the third year of his rookie contract.

Banks (ribs) is active for Sunday's matchup against the Falcons, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Banks missed the Giants' past three contests due to an injury to his ribs, but he was limited in practice all week and will be able to return to game action Sunday. The second-year defender will look to slow down a Falcons passing attack led by rookie Michael Penix, who will make his first NFL start. Banks has been a near every-down player for New York when healthy this season.

Banks was sidelined for the Giants' Thanksgiving Day loss to the Cowboys after practicing in a limited fashion throughout the week, so Wednesday's DNP could be an indication that his groin injury has worsened. The 2023 first-round pick likely needs to upgrade to at least limited practice participation Thursday or Friday in order to return for a Week 14 matchup against the Saints.

Banks (ribs) is inactive for Thursday's Week 13 contest against the Cowboys, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Banks was deemed limited in practice throughout the week and entered Thursday's game questionable to suit up, but he's not going to be able to take the field against Dallas. The second-year cornerback had started each of New York's 11 games this season, so his absence is a significant one for the team's secondary. Adoree' Jackson could be asked to step up and try to slow down CeeDee Lamb on Thursday.
