Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Cowboys' Andy Dalton: Sputters in first start
Dalton completed 34 of 54 passes for 266 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Cowboys' 38-10 loss to the Cardinals on Monday night. He also gained four yards on two rushes.
Dalton's serviceable line belies the fits and starts that defined the Cowboys offense, although not all the blame can be laid at the feet of the veteran quarterback. Ezekiel Elliott's two fumbles certainly didn't help the cause, but Dalton also lacked arm strength and accuracy on his throws. He also took three sacks and got hit eight times, with the significant difference between his mobility and that of Dak Prescott evident on many plays as he worked behind an injury-ravaged offensive line. Even the 18-play, 75-yard drive that Dalton was able to spearhead in the fourth quarter was nowhere near as impressive as those figures might imply, although he did manage to cap it with his only touchdown pass of the night, which went to Amari Cooper. Dalton will hope to work out the kinks during another full week of practice reps ahead of a Week 7 road divisional battle versus the Washington Football Team.

Mike White QB | CAR
Mike White: Returns to practice squad
White reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
White was activated for Sunday's loss to the Dolphins but didn't end up taking the field. Should Sam Darnold (right shoulder) miss another week, White will likely be activated again as an emergency backup.

Patrick Mahomes QB | KC
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Tosses two touchdowns
Mahomes completed 21 of 26 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 26-17 win over the Bills. He also rushed 10 times for 36 yards.
Mahomes dealt with constant rain during Monday's game, yet only failed to connect on a handful of his passes. Although the conditions contributed toward a season low in attempts, so too did tailback Clyde Edwards-Helaire's success on the ground, as the rookie went for 161 yards on 26 carries. While Mahomes also chipped in with his first double-digit carry total this term, the quarterback still found tight end Travis Kelce for a pair of touchdown tosses. In doing so, Mahomes brought his season tally to 15 TD passes versus just one interception, getting the Chiefs back in the win column as they'll now prepare for Sunday's game at the Broncos.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Falls for second straight week
Allen completed 14 of 27 passes for 122 yards and two TD passes with one interception during Monday's loss to the Chiefs. He added eight rushes for 42 yards.
The two TDs and the rushing yards made this a palatable performance from a fantasy perspective, but it was a rough outing for the second straight primetime week for Allen and the Bills, who fall to 4-2. The third-year quarterback has put up his two worst performances of the season in these two games after being a fantasy darling for Weeks 1-4. While Allen still has enough flaws in his game that there will be occasional tough sledding in matchups against championship-level teams like the Chiefs and Titans, he's also improved his game by miles since his rookie season and remains a top-10 fantasy QB. Things get much easier Week 7 with Allen and the Bills traveling to face the Jets.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Could miss another week
Coach Adam Gase said Monday that Darnold has a few more steps to progress through before being cleared for Sunday's game versus the Bills, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Gase wasn't optimistic about Darnold's chances of being ready in time, hinting that the third-year quarterback is likely to spend another game on the sidelines. Darnold didn't practice at all last week, and he'll need to at least log a limited session by Friday to have a shot at playing Sunday. If he misses another game, Joe Flacco is slated for a third straight start.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Officially moves to IR
The Cowboys placed Prescott (ankle) on injured reserve Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Prescott's spot on the 53-man roster will be taken up by Leighton Vander Esch (collarbone). The star quarterback is set to remain on IR to conclude the 2020 season due to the compound fracture and dislocation in his right ankle, but the Cowboys are hopeful he'll be ready to participate in offseason workouts as early as late April. Team owner Jerry Jones has suggested that he envisions Dallas retaining Prescott, though it remains to be seen whether a long-term deal will be negotiated. The Cowboys also will have the ability to assign the franchise tag on Prescott for a second consecutive year, but such a move would raise his salary to $37.7 million.

Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Browns' Baker Mayfield: On track for Week 7
Coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Mayfield (ribs) is expected to start against the Bengals in Week 7, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Mayfield was medically cleared to suit up against the Steelers in Week 6, but Stefanski opted to have him removed from action as a preemptive measure to avoid further injury, with the Browns down 31-7 at the time. Stefanski also said that he expects Mayfield to do more in practice this week than he did last week, when he logged an LP/LP/FP practice slate. Another official update on Mayfield's health may not come until the Browns officially resume practicing Wednesday, but barring any setbacks it looks as though he'll get an opportunity to bounce back against the Bengals' exploitable secondary.

Jalen Hurts QB | PHI
Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Will keep seeing designed plays
Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that getting Hurts involved on designed plays is "something we'll continue to explore" each week, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
Pederson also suggested that Hurts could handle packages out of the backfield if Miles Sanders (knee) is forced to miss any time. The rookie signal-caller provided Philadelphia's offense with a few much-needed sparks during Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Ravens, though his insertion into the lineup was only occasional. On three touches Sunday (two carries, one reception), Hurts totaled 26 yards, and he also served as an effective decoy during a 74-yard run by Sanders which, after a fumble, resulted in a touchdown by J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.

Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Browns' Baker Mayfield: Removal preventative
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski removed Mayfield (ribs) from Sunday's loss to the Steelers because the coach didn't want to see the quarterback take another hit, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "I just didn't want to see him get hit one more time, and I put that on myself,'' Stefanski said. "He's a very, very tough player and I know he wants to fight, but it's a long season.''
Stefanski's remarks suggest Mayfield could have stayed in the game if it were competitive, but the coach removed him as a preventative measure with an eye toward the rest of the season. At the time, Cleveland was losing 31-7, and the offensive strategy was to throw, which exposed the quarterback to greater risk of being hit. Stefanski vows to start Mayfield against Cincinnati in Week 7 if he's healthy, "and I think he will be," said the coach.

Jimmy Garoppolo QB | LAR
49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Finally looks healthy with 3 TDs
Garoppolo (ankle) completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 268 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Rams.
If there was any doubt that Garoppolo's dismal performance (and subsequent benching) against the Dolphins last week wasn't related to him coming back too quickly from a high-ankle sprain, let Sunday's bounce-back performance quash any concerns regarding his abilities under center. The 28-year-old looked like a completely different player against the Rams, as he was moving well in the pocket and was far more accurate on medium and long pass attempts that required him to plant on the balky ankle. Ankle sprains can be tricky and require extra time to heal, so don't be surprised if Garoppolo remains on the injury report during practice this week. That said, it appears that fantasy managers can resume using Jimmy G as either a starter in medium-to-large-sized leagues and in DFS formats against the right opponent. Next Sunday's matchup against the Patriots may not be one of those favorable matchups, as New England boasts a talented secondary.
