  • Jake Luton QB | LV

Jaguars' Jake Luton: Inactive against Colts

Luton (coach's decision) is inactive for the teams Week 1 contest against the Colts.

Luton beat out Mike Glennon for a spot on the roster at the end of training camp. However, Glennon will now receive the nod over him to serve as the backup quarterback in Week 1 against the Colts.

  • Jordan Love QB | GB

Packers' Jordan Love: Inactive for opener

Love is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Vikings.

Love will not have any chance to make his NFL debut in Week 1, which comes as little surprise given he heads into the season behind both Aaron Rodgers and Tim Boyle on the Packers' depth chart.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Healthy scratch Sunday

Hurts (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Sunday at Washington.

A healthy scratch to begin his NFL career, the 2020 second-round pick will don street clothes while Nate Sudfeld serves as Carson Wentz's backup. Without an injury to the two quarterbacks in front of him, Hurts may be a regular inactive for the Eagles for the foreseeable future.

  • Mike White QB | CAR

Jets' Mike White: Heads to active roster

White was promoted to the Jets' active roster Saturday.

White beat out David Fales for a spot on the roster as the emergency quarterback and a promotion from the practice squad. So long as Joe Flacco (neck) remains out, White should have the chance to serve as the Jets' third quarterback.

  • Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL

Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Ready for season opener

Tagovailoa (hip) practiced fully Friday and doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at New England, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

A full participant all week in preparation for his first NFL game, Tagovailoa has recovered from the hip injury that brought an early end to his final campaign at Alabama last November. He'll enter the season as the backup to starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, so it remains to be seen when Tagovailoa will take his first NFL snaps.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Leading healthy offense

Burrow will lead a healthy offense into Sunday's game against the Chargers, as the Bengals don't have any offensive players on their Week 1 injury report.

Some might call it a minor miracle for both A.J. Green and John Ross to be healthy at the same time. In any case, the Bengals also have Tyler Boyd, Auden Tate and Tee Higgins at wide receiver, plus Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard in the backfield and C.J. Uzomah at tight end. Burrow has no shortage of options in the passing game, though it could be tricky to find open targets against a Chargers cornerback group comprised of Casey Hayward, Chris Harris and Desmond King.

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Texans' Deshaun Watson: Two scores in season-opening loss

Watson completed 20 of 32 passes for 253 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Texans' 34-20 loss to the Chiefs on Thursday. He also rushed six times for 27 yards and another score.

Watson's final numbers were certainly serviceable from a fantasy perspective, but he didn't enjoy as much real-world success as during his two meetings with the Chiefs last season and postseason. The 24-year-old's pair of scores both came with the game essentially out of reach, as Watson found Jordan Akins for a 19-yard touchdown toss with 7:15 remaining and then added a one-yard end-zone scamper that gave the Texans a glimmer of hope by bringing them to within 31-20 with 2:38 left. Watson did manage to connect with seven different pass catchers, including newcomers Brandin Cooks and Randall Cobb for a pair of completions apiece. He also showed immediate chemistry with another key offseason acquisition in David Johnson, hitting his running back on three occasions out of the backfield. Watson and his teammates will look to quickly regroup, as the back end of a devastating 1-2 scheduling punch awaits them in the form of the Ravens for a Week 2 matchup on Sunday, Sept. 20.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Throws for three TDs in opener

Mahomes completed 24 of 32 passes for 211 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Chiefs' 34-20 win over the Texans on Thursday.

Although the defending champs put up a typical point total for their high-powered offense, it wasn't exactly a trademark Mahomes performance. The 2018 league MVP was highly efficient while completing 75.0 percent of his passes, but he averaged a relatively modest 6.6 yards per attempt and put up his third-lowest full-game yardage total of his career. Mahomes also notably didn't have an official rushing attempt for the first time since Week 11 of last season against the Chargers, and in what may be a harbinger of a more run-heavy offense this season, coach Andy Reid opted to give rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire a robust 25 carries in his NFL debut, but Mahomes still found a way to reward fantasy managers by firing a trio of passing scores to Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins and Tyreek Hill. The prolific signal-caller and his teammates will now have extended time to gear up for a Week 2 divisional showdown against the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 20.

  • Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL

Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Hip issue downplayed

Tagovailoa (hip) remains healthy despite his presence on Wednesday's injury report, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Jackson's report notes that any player receiving any type of treatment is expected to be listed on the injury report, but still confirms that "Tua is fine." Tagovailoa still practiced in full during Wednesday's session and is fully expected to serve as the backup to Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 1's showdown at New England. This appears to be nothing out of the ordinary for a player 10 months removed from a relatively major hip injury.

  • Tommy Stevens TE | NYG

Tommy Stevens: Earns practice squad spot

Stevens cleared waivers Sunday and signed with the Saints' practice squad, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The rookie seventh-rounder is considered a run-blocking tight end after catching just 14 passes over four seasons at Mississippi State. While he was unable to secure a roster spot, he could get promoted to the active roster if either Jared Cook, Josh Hill or Adam Trautman is unavailable.
