  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Gets in full practice Thursday

    Goff (ankle) practiced fully Thursday.

Goff was held out of Wednesday's session due to a sore ankle, but his return without limitations one day later paves the way for him to continue to lead the Lions offense. The reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Month will be taking on a Packers defense Sunday that has allowed the 14th-most yards per attempt (7.25) to opposing quarterbacks this season.

  • Derek Carr QB | NO

Saints' Derek Carr: Remains limited in practice

Carr (oblique) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.

Since straining his left oblique Week 5 at Kansas City, Carr has missed three consecutive games and didn't practice until this Wednesday, but he's now cobbled together back-to-back capped sessions. There's an expectation that Carr will return to action Sunday in Carolina, but it remains to be seen how he'll be listed on Friday's injury report, and who else may be available to the offense. Among skill players on the active roster, RB Alvin Kamara remains limited by hand and rib fractures and WRs Bub Means (ankle) and Cedrick Wilson (hip) also are banged-up, but Carr at least will have top WR Chris Olave and TE Juwan Johnson (shoulder) at his services.

  • Jordan Love QB | GB

Packers' Jordan Love: Limited in return to practice

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Love (groin) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.

A groin strain knocked Love out of this past Sunday's 30-27 win over the Jaguars, but the quarterback is considered day-to-day and remains hopeful to start this weekend's matchup with the Lions in Green Bay. Love's ability to return to practice in some fashion Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's session is an encouraging sign, though a decision on whether he'll be available to play this weekend may not be made until after Friday's practice. Malik Willis would be in store for his third start of the season Sunday if Love can't go.

  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Misses second straight practice

Jackson (back/knee) isn't practicing Thursday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

Head coach John Harbaugh had previously characterized Jackson's absence from practice Wednesday as a rest day, only for the quarterback to be listed with a pair of health concerns upon the release of the team's first Week 9 injury report later that day. With Jackson now sitting out a second straight practice, his status for Sunday's game against the Broncos is suddenly on much shakier ground than initially believed. According to Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, Harbaugh isn't expected to speak to the media again until Friday, at which point he'll likely clarify whether Jackson is truly in danger of missing the Week 9 contest. If Jackson ends up missing his first game of the season Sunday, journeyman backup Josh Johnson would be in line to make his first start since 2021 and would oversee what would presumably be an even more run-heavy offense than usual.

  • Jordan Love QB | GB

Packers' Jordan Love: Back at practice Thursday

Love (groin) practiced Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

Love made an early departure from Week 8 action in Jacksonville due to what eventually was termed a strained groin, leaving him day-to-day as a result. He wasn't able to practice Wednesday, but he also told Ryan Wood of USA Today that it was "realistic" for him to be able to play Sunday against the Lions. Love may just be testing out the state of his groin midweek, but with at least a limited session under his belt, he seemingly has put himself in a position to suit up this weekend. Malik Willis would get the nod under center if Love isn't able to go.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Back at practice

Goff (ankle) is on the field for Thursday's practice, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com

Goff was a spectator for Wednesday's practice after he rolled his ankle in the Lions' blowout win over the Titans this past weekend, but his presence on the field at Thursday's session suggests his status for Sunday's game against the Packers is in no real jeopardy. The Lions will release their second Week 9 injury report Thursday, when it will be known whether Goff was a limited or full participant in practice.

  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Listed with pair of minor injuries

Jackson was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice due to back and knee injuries.

Earlier Wednesday, head coach John Harbaugh attributed Jackson's absence from practice to rest, but after the team's first Week 9 injury report was released, the quarterback was revealed to be nursing a pair of injuries. Regardless, the Ravens haven't indicated that Jackson is dealing with anything serious, and Harbaugh's comments in particular suggest that the team isn't worried about Jackson missing a home game against the Broncos this Sunday.

  • Will Levis QB | TEN

Titans' Will Levis: Limited in practice again

Levis (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.

Levis was limited in practice all last week before being listed as questionable and then declared inactive for an eventual 52-14 loss to the Lions. According to Turron Davenport of ESPN.com, head coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that he wants to see how Levis' right shoulder feels after throwing on consecutive days, which makes it sound like the Titans won't have a good idea about the quarterback's availability for this Sunday's game against the Patriots until later in the week. Mason Rudolph will make his third consecutive start this weekend if Levis isn't deemed ready to return to the lineup.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Jets' Aaron Rodgers: No injury designation for Thursday

Rodgers (knee/hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Texans.

Rodgers has dealt with various lower-body injuries this season but hasn't come close to missing a game. He'll face a tough Houston defense Thursday, albeit with safety Jimmie Ward (groin) and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) both missing a third and fourth straight game, respectively. The Jets offense is also missing two starters, wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest) and right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle).

  • Jordan Love QB | GB

Packers' Jordan Love: 'Realistic' chance of playing Week 9

Love (groin), who didn't practice Wednesday, believes it's "realistic" for him to play Sunday against the Lions, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.

Love was diagnosed with a strained groin after exiting this past Sunday's win over Jacksonville, prompting the Packers to label him day-to-day. Backup quarterback Malik Willis ended up directing the offense in the second half en route to a 30-27 win, and he would fill in for Love for a third time this season if the latter isn't cleared to suit up. Love would put himself in a better position to retain his starting role this weekend against the Lions by returning to practice Thursday or Friday.
