Bengals' Joe Burrow: Questionable for Monday

Burrow (calf) will be listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Rams, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.

Head coach Zac Taylor hardly gave a ringing endorsement regarding Burrow's status saying, "We'll see. Still have 48 hours." Burrow was spotted participating during Saturday's practice with a compression sleeve around his injured calf, but it does mark two straight days in which the star quarterback did light work during practice. The Bengals hosted both Trace McSorley and AJ McCarron for a workout Saturday in an effort to boast their depth at the position, although it would be almost impossible to expect either to see game action Monday if the Bengals opted to sign a new backup signal caller.

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Participating in warmups

Burrow (calf) was spotted participating in Saturday's practice warmups, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

We'll find out Burrow's official status likely later Saturday, but it sure seems as if this is a positive step toward the star quarterback playing Monday against the Rams. The 26-year-old also logged limited participation in Friday's practice.

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Logs limited practice Friday

Burrow (calf) practiced in a limited capacity Friday, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.

One day removed from not participating in any drills, Burrow took the practice field in full pads Friday and proceeded to get in some work. He'll have one more session to put himself in a position to play Monday against the Rams as he tends to a sore right calf. Saturday's injury report will reveal whether or not he heads into that contest with a designation. If Burrow is unable to go Week 3, the Bengals will turn to Jake Browning under center.

  • C.J. Stroud QB | HOU

Texans' C.J. Stroud: Practices fully Friday, will play

Stroud (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's Week 3 game against the Jaguars.

Stroud practiced in full Friday and will continue to play through his minor shoulder issue. Playing from behind all afternoon in Week 2, Stroud threw for 384 yards and two touchdowns. He's not yet a fantasy QB1 but has positioned himself on the back end of the QB2 map.

  • Kyler Murray QB | MIN

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: Unlikely to debut Week 5

Murray (knee) is expected to play this season, but it probably won't be Week 5 when he's first eligible to return from the PUP list, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

"[Murray]'s doing well," coach Jonathan Gannon said Friday. "We know the timetable of when he can return to play, but that doesn't mean he will return to play and open his window then." The Cardinals coach didn't make any guesses about when Murray will be ready, merely noting that the plan will be "adaptable" and the quarterback will have a say in the process. Gannon added that he's "not in a hurry" even though Murray is "itching to be back" on the field.

  • Bryce Young QB | CAR

Panthers' Bryce Young: Should be back Week 4 or 5

Young (ankle) won't play Sunday in Seattle but is expected back for Week 4 against Minnesota or Week 5 at Detroit, Augusta Stone of the Panthers' official site reports.

Coach Frank Reich made it clear he doesn't expect Young to be out long, despite missing every practice the team held this week. Andy Dalton will start against the Seahawks this Sunday, which might actually be an upgrade for Carolina's pass catchers given the way Young has struggled so far. It's a two-game sample, to be fair, and Young will return to the starting job once he's healthy even if the offense looks better with Dalton at the helm the next week or two.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Spotted at practice

Burrow (calf) was present for Friday's practice, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Dehner relays that Burrow was on the field with his shoulder pads on, but it remains to be seen how the Bengals will list the QB's Friday practice participation. Burrow was listed as a non-participant Thursday in the team's initial practice ahead of Monday night's game against the Rams.

  • Colts' Anthony Richardson: Targeting Week 4 return

Richardson (concussion) won't play Sunday at Baltimore, but the quarterback is optimistic about his chances of playing Week 4 against the Rams, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

At this stage, Richardson -- who didn't practice this week -- remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, but if the quarterback is able to make tangible progress in the coming days, he'll target a return to action versus Los Angeles. In Richardson's absence this weekend, Gardner Minshew will draw the start against the Ravens.

  • Colts' Gardner Minshew: Will start against Baltimore

With Anthony Richardson (concussion) ruled out for Week 3, Minshew will start Sunday against the Ravens, Kevin Bowen of the Colts' official site reports.

After Richardson was injured on his 18th snap against the Texans in Week 2, Minshew came on in relief and completed a crisp 19 of 25 passes (76 percent) for 171 yards and one touchdown, guiding the Colts across the finish line for the victory. Minshew is one of the league's most capable backups, and while Week 3 presents a much tougher task on the road in Baltimore, the veteran signal-caller does represent a lineup option for those who roster Richardson or who are otherwise in need of a QB fill-in this weekend.

  • Colts' Anthony Richardson: Ruled out against Baltimore

Richardson (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Baltimore, JJ Stankevitz of the Colts' official site reports.

Head coach Shane Steichen announced Richardson and center Ryan Kelly (concussion) will not play. Gardner Minshew is set to start in Richardson's place versus the Ravens.
