  • Commanders' Antonio Gibson: Doubtful for Sunday

Gibson (toe) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Giants.

It'll be a major surprise if Gibson is declared active ahead of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff after missing every practice this week. He'd come on strong the past two games without any role change in terms of playing time, and his likely absence this Sunday could lead to starter Brian Robinson handling a larger snap share than usual. Coach Ron Rivera said Friday that Chris Rodriguez will step in as the No. 2 RB, with Derrick Gore likely being elevated from the practice squad, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.

  • Dameon Pierce RB | PHI

Texans' Dameon Pierce: Back at practice

Pierce (ankle) was present for Friday's practice, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Pierce didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, but the running back's presence on the field Friday offers hope that he could potentially return to the mix Sunday against the Cardinals. The Texans' upcoming injury report will add further context to Pierce's Week 11 status, but if he's available versus Arizona, he could reenter the mix in a timeshare with Devin Singletary, who's coming off a 150-yard rushing effort Week 10.

  • De'Von Achane RB | MIA

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Trending toward playing Sunday

Coach Mike McDaniel relayed that the Dolphins are "prepared to" activate Achane (knee) off IR ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders, with a decision on that front in line to be made after Friday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

In terms of Achane returning this weekend, McDaniel is "very optimistic about that" on the heels of the running back logging back-to-back limited practices Wednesday and Thursday. Assuming Achane is activated ahead of Saturday afternoon's deadline to do so, the 2023 third-rounder would presumably reenter a timeshare with Raheem Mostert (ankle/knee), though even in that context Achane has enough playmaking ability to merit fantasy lineup consideration Week 11.

  • Justice Hill RB | BAL

Ravens' Justice Hill: Role diminishing in offense

Hill had one carry for one yard and one catch for six yards on 13 snaps Thursday against the Bengals.

As many expected with Keaton Mitchell's emergence, Hill's role in the offense is taking a significant cut. Hill has played 13 snaps in each of the last two games, with four combined touches. Mitchell and Gus Edwards appear to be Baltimore's primary backs going forward, leaving Hill to play a reserve role and special teams.

  • Dalvin Cook RB | DAL

Jets' Dalvin Cook: Coach suggests more touches coming

Coach Robert Saleh said Friday that the team plans to give Cook a larger role moving forward, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. "I feel like his legs are alive," Saleh said of Cook. "Getting him a role is a priority."

Cook rushed four times for 26 yards in New York's Week 10 loss to the Raiders, marking his most efficient outing as a Jet in terms of yards per carry. New York subsequently waived fellow running back Michael Carter on Tuesday, thus clearing a path for a few extra touches per game for Cook behind Breece Hall. Cook started the season in a near-even split with Hall but had been splitting limited playing time with Carter behind Hall in recent weeks. The veteran running back's season high in touches was 16 in Week 1 against the Bills, whom the Jets will face again Sunday.

  • Leonard Fournette: Could be called up soon

Coach Sean McDermott said Friday that calling Fournette up from the practice squad will be a "big-time consideration" in the weeks ahead, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

While McDermott didn't rule out the possibility of it happening for Sunday's game against the Jets, it sounds more likely to occur later in the season, with the coach noting Friday that Fournette is still learning the offense. The Bills primarily have used James Cook and Latavius Murray in the backfield this year, with Damien Harris occupying a small role Weeks 1 through 6 before he suffered a neck injury and concussion. Harris now has missed the minimum of four games on injured reserve, but there haven't been updates on his progress, nor has he been designated to return and made eligible to practice.

  • Commanders' Antonio Gibson: Not practicing Friday

Gibson (toe) isn't practicing Friday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

A third consecutive missed practice suggests Gibson is unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Giants. If he ends up inactive, the Commanders could give more work to starter Brian Robinson -- especially on passing downs -- and likely would install third-stringer Chris Rodriguez in some kind of role.

  • Ravens' Keaton Mitchell: Runs clearly ahead of Hill

Mitchell rushed eight times for 33 yards and brought in his only target for eight yards in the Ravens' 34-20 win over the Bengals on Thursday night.

The rookie back garnered seven more carries than fellow complementary option Justice Hill, further cementing the fact he appears to have clearly moved past the latter for the No. 2 running back role. Mitchell, an undrafted rookie, gained the majority of his yardage on a 21-yard run, but his explosiveness and versatility figure to continue affording him a solid allotment of snaps in a Week 12 road matchup against the Chargers on Sunday night, Nov. 26.

  • Gus Edwards RB | LAC

Ravens' Gus Edwards: Two more touchdowns in win

Edwards rushed 12 times for 62 yards and two touchdowns and brought in both targets for eight yards in the Ravens' 34-20 win over the Bengals on Thursday night.

Edwards remained the Ravens' top back in the big divisional win, although rookie Keaton Mitchell appears to have clearly moved into the No. 2 role after logging eight carries to Justice Hill's one. Edwards' touchdown barrage shows no sign of abating, as he crossed the goal line on three-yard scoring runs in the first and fourth quarter to push his season total to a career-high 10. Edwards has eight of those scores in the last four games alone, keeping his fantasy stock robust despite what is typically a minimal passing game role heading into a Week 12 road matchup against the Chargers on Sunday night, Nov. 26.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Garners 100 total yards in loss

Mixon rushed 16 times for 69 yards and brought in all five targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 34-20 loss to the Ravens on Thursday night.

Mixon was the most consistently productive member of a notably short-handed offense, posting his third-highest rushing yardage total of the season while also scoring his first receiving touchdown since Week 9 of last season on a four-yard grab just past the midway point of the second quarter. That throw came from Joe Burrow, who suffered a wrist injury on the play that forced him from the contest for the remainder of the night. With Burrow's status for a Week 12 contest against the Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 26 now in doubt, Mixon's already pivotal role in Cincinnati's offense could expand further if the team's star quarterback remains sidelined for that game.
