  • Zack Moss RB | CIN

Colts' Zack Moss: Suiting up Sunday

Moss (heel/elbow) is active for Sunday's game against the Saints.

Listed as questionable heading into Sunday and considered a game-time decision leading up to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, Moss has received the green light to suit up after coming out of a pregame warmup no worse for wear. Though he has handled snap shares ranging between 49 and 80 percent in each of the Colts' three games since Jonathan Taylor made his season debut Week 5, Moss could take more of a back seat to Indianapolis' top back while the former plays Sunday at less than 100 percent health. With that in mind, Moss may could serve as Option 1B out of the backfield, if not a clear No. 2 option behind Taylor, who may be ready to handle his heaviest workload of the season after carrying 18 times for 75 yards and a touchdown while adding three receptions for 45 yards in last week's 39-38 loss to Cleveland.

  • Jerome Ford RB | WAS

Browns' Jerome Ford: Pushing to play Sunday

Ford (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Seattle, will go through a pregame warmup before the Browns decide whether he's available to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

After sustaining a high-ankle sprain in last week's win over the Colts and then missing practices Wednesday and Thursday, Ford appeared to stand little chance of being available for the Week 8 contest. However, he surprisingly returned to the practice field Friday as a limited participant, prompting the Browns to list him as questionable heading into the weekend. Schefter relays that Ford wants and intends to play Sunday, but if the Browns have any reservations about the health of his ankle, the second-year back will sit out. The Browns might have tipped their hand about their plans for Ford when they elevated another running back (Jordan Wilkins) from the practice squad Saturday, but official word on Ford's status won't come until the team releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. Even if Ford suits up, he may not be tasked with handling a full workload and could cede the lead role out of the backfield to Kareem Hunt.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Expected to face Patriots

Mostert (ankle), who is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against New England, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Mostert missed Wednesday's practice due to what looks like a minor ankle tweak, but he managed to return to the field as a limited participant Thursday and Friday. The speedy veteran stands to lead Miami's backfield versus the Patriots, though with Jeff Wilson now having had multiple weeks to get back in shape after his return from injured reserve, the workload at running back could end up being split slightly more evenly. Of course, with Mostert already having scored a career-high nine rushing touchdowns in seven appearances this season, he remains a must-start fantasy option when on the field. His status will be made official when Miami releases its inactive list roughly 90 minutes ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Zack Moss RB | CIN

Colts' Zack Moss: True game-time decision

Moss (elbow/heel), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints, will see how his foot feels during pregame warmups before the Colts make a determination on his status, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Moss failed to practice Wednesday and Friday while turning in a limited session Thursday. Of the two injuries, his heel seems to be the bigger issue, as Schefter specifically noted that Moss wants to see how his foot feels when pushing off. Moss's status is particularly noteworthy to Jonathan Taylor, who could see his first full workload of the campaign if Moss is inactive.

  • Jordan Wilkins RB | CLE

Browns' Jordan Wilkins: Promoted to active roster

The Browns elevated Wilkins to the active roster Saturday.

Wilkins' elevation comes with Jerome Ford (ankle) listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Seahawks. Wilkins signed with the Browns' practice squad Tuesday after being let go by the team at the end of training camp ahead of the 53-man roster deadline. If Ford is unable to suit up versus Seattle, Wilkins should slot into a depth backfield role behind Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Unlikely to be traded

The Titans have told Henry he won't be dealt prior to the NFL trade deadline Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Titans have reportedly received calls from teams around the league inquiring about Henry's availability. It could make sense for Tennessee to deal him considering its 2-4 record and the fact that Henry is in the final year of his contract. For now, however, it appears he won't be on the move, though nothing will be official until the trade deadline has passed Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

  • Giants' Gary Brightwell: Headed to IR

The Giants placed Brightwell (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Brightwell sustained a hamstring injury in Week 7 against the Commanders. He'll now have to sit out for at least the next four games and will be eligible to return against the Patriots on Nov. 26. Jashaun Corbin and Deon Jackson are set to take on backfield depth roles behind Saquon Barkley and Matt Breida.

  • Kene Nwangwu RB | NYJ

Vikings' Kene Nwangwu: Ruled out for Week 8

Nwangwu (illness) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's contest against the Packers, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Nwangwu returned from injured reserve Oct. 18 and made his 2023 debut in Week 7 against the 49ers. His return has been short-lived, though, as he was unable to practice Friday due to an illness. With Nwangwu out for Sunday's divisional matchup against the Packers, Ty Chandler is the most likely candidate to take over kick return duties.

  • Owen Wright RB | TB

Ravens' Owen Wright: Promoted from practice squad

The Ravens elevated Wright to the active roster Saturday.

Wright was cut by the Ravens ahead of the 53-man roster deadline at the end of training camp, but he elected to join the team's practice squad Aug. 31. The move could be a precautionary one with Keaton Mitchell (hamstring) listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Cardinals.

  • Cardinals' Damien Williams: Elevated for third straight week

The Cardinals elevated Williams to the active roster Saturday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Williams joined the Cardinals' practice squad Oct. 5 after being let go by the Raiders during training camp. He's been promoted and played in each of the last two games as a depth running back behind Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado, with James Conner (knee) on injured reserve since Oct. 10. Since this is the third time Williams has been elevated this season, the Cardinals would need to sign him to their active roster if they want to continue to play him for the rest of 2023.
