  • Titans' Jonathan Ward: Moved up from practice squad

The Titans elevated Ward to the active roster Saturday, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports.

Ward rejoined the Titans on their practice squad Tuesday after reaching an injury settlement with the team Aug. 30. He split time last season between the Cardinals and Titans and played mostly on special teams over eight games, though he did rush for 25 yards on five carries while adding two catches for seven yards.

  • Lions' David Montgomery: Unsurprisingly ruled out

Montgomery (ribs) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Raiders.

It never seemed possible Montgomery would play prior to the team's Week 9 bye, especially given the severity of the rib cartilage issue. In Montgomery's two absences this season, Jahmyr Gibbs has tallied 148 rushing yards on 28 carries to go along with 16 receptions for 97 yards and one touchdown. Expect the rookie and Craig Reynolds to get a heavy workload against a vulnerable Raiders defense.

  • Bills' Latavius Murray: Limited usage in Week 8 win

Murray carried five times for seven yards and caught his only target for four yards in Thursday's 24-18 win over Tampa Bay.

Murray actually had two good cracks to score a touchdown, but he was stopped both times inside the five-yard line and his night ended as a fantasy dud. Murray has seen a slight rise in carries following a neck injury to teammate Damien Harris (neck), as he's had three of his season's top four offensive snap shares in the last three games. With the Bills having so many weapons on offense, the 33-year-old Murray remains mostly a touchdown-dependent option, and he hasn't found the end zone since Week 3.

  • Chase Brown RB | CIN

Bengals' Chase Brown: Moved to IR

The Bengals placed Brown (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday.

Head coach Zac Taylor noted via Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site Friday that Brown picked up the injury in practice earlier in the week. He'll be forced to sit out for the next four games and will be eligible to return against the Steelers on Nov. 26. In the meantime, Trayveon Williams and Chris Evans will be in line for an increased workload behind starter Joe Mixon.

  • Rams' Darrell Henderson: Elevated to active roster

Henderson was elevated to the Rams' active roster Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

No surprise here, as Henderson started at running back for Los Angeles in Week 7 before subsequently reverting to the practice squad. He ultimately saw 68 snaps and 19 touches en route to 66 yards from scrimmage and a rushing touchdown. With both Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) still on injured reserve, Henderson could be in line for a similar workload. Still, Royce Freeman, who got 16 carries for 66 yards on 29 snaps in the same game, figures to again be involved. It remains to be seen if Myles Gaskin or Zach Evans fits into the equation at all as well.

  • James Cook RB | BUF

Bills' James Cook: Takes on main role in Week 8 win

Cook carried 14 times for 67 yards and caught his only target for six yards in Thursday's 24-18 win over Tampa Bay.

Cook saw 14 carries to Latavius Murray's five, but quarterback Josh Allen always has the ability to hone in on the run game, as the latter posted a 7-41-1 line on the ground. In fact, Allen has more rushing touchdowns (5) than every other Bills player combined this season. As for Cook, his 4.8 yards per carry is great and he's got a decent role in the passing game with 18 catches on the season, plus he's the main ball carrier, but touchdowns will be tricky to come by even with Damien Harris (neck) out of action because there are so many other talents in the offense. Cook's high in carries for the season is 17, back in Week 2.

  • Jordan Wilkins RB | CLE

Jordan Wilkins: Could serve as third back Sunday

Wilkins will be called up to Cleveland's active roster Sunday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

Wilkins was signed to the practice squad earlier in the week, as the Browns prepare depth at a position beset with injury. The report assumes Jerome Ford (ankle) will sit out Sunday against the Seahawks, but he showed positive signs during late-week workouts and is deemed questionable for the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. If Ford is out, Wilkins, who is getting up to speed on the offense, would likely be added to the 53-man roster and serve as the third back behind Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong.

  • Giants' Gary Brightwell: Won't play Week 8

Brightwell (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against against the Jets, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.

Brightwell didn't practice at all during Week 8 prep, and he's thus been ruled out for Sunday's matchup. The third-year running back has been used mostly on special teams this season, and he hasn't logged an offensive snap since Week 4. However, with rookie RB Eric Gray moved to IR on Tuesday, the Giants recently signed both Jashaun Corbin and Deon Jackson to serve as depth behind Saquon Barkley and Matt Breida out of the backfield.

  • Ravens' Keaton Mitchell: Chance to play Sunday

Mitchell (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan reports.

The 21-year-old running back out of East Carolina seems to be trending in the right direction to play this Sunday, as he went from limited participation in Thursday's practice to a full workload Friday. Mitchell has appeared in two games for the Ravens since coming off injured reserve, playing primarily on special teams (52 percent of snaps).

  • Kene Nwangwu RB | NYJ

Vikings' Kene Nwangwu: Questionable with illness

Nwangwu (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Green Bay.

Nwangwu missed practice Friday due to an illness, putting his status for Week 8 in limbo. If he can't suit up Sunday, Ty Chandler would likely fill in as Minnesota's primary kick returner.
