  • Saints' Latavius Murray: Logs 11 touches in Week 7 victory

Murray rushed 11 times for 47 yards and caught his only target for nine yards in the Saints' 27-24 win over the Panthers on Sunday.

Murray saw just three fewer carries than Alvin Kamara and played his usual role as chain-mover and change-of-pace back, while getting stuffed on a goal-line carry in the process. Due to his lack of involvement in the passing game, Murray is a touchdown-dependent fantasy option who offers some flex appeal in the right matchup.

  • Chase Edmonds RB | WAS

Cardinals' Chase Edmonds: Takes over lead role late

Edmonds carried five times for 58 yards and caught all seven of his targets for 84 yards Sunday in the Cardinals' 37-34 win over the Seahawks.

Arizona had already been featuring Edmonds as its top pass-catching back this season, and the third-year player looks like he could be thrust into a lead role as soon as Week 9 against Miami after starter Kenyan Drake was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter with what appeared to be a serious ankle injury, according to Mason Kern of SI.com. Already in the midst of a strong game prior to Drake's departure, Edmonds has now upped his season averages to 6.1 yards per carry and 8.5 yards per reception. Edmonds is unlikely to maintain that lofty level of efficiency if he takes on a larger workload, but he would still project to have a high fantasy ceiling as the starter in this dynamic offense. Arizona is entering its bye week, but Edmonds should be a high-priority target on the waiver wire in the event Drake's ankle injury keeps him sidelined heading into Week 9.

  • Travis Homer RB | PIT

Seahawks' Travis Homer: Dealing with knee contusion

Homer picked up a knee contusion in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, per coach Pete Carroll, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Homer took on an increased role after Chris Carson exited with a foot injury, serving as the passing-down alternative to Carlos Hyde. DeeJay Dallas took over that change-of-pace role late in the game, and it turns out the reason for that substitution was an injury to Homer's knee. Homer rushed three times for 10 yards prior to getting hurt, and he'll hope to heal up in time to face San Francisco in Week 8.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Cardinals' Kenyan Drake: Carted off late against Seattle

Drake was carted to the locker room with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against Seattle, John Weinfuss of ESPN reports.

Drake went down in agony after converting on a 4th-and-1 play. He was helped to the sideline and went to the locker room on the cart soon after. Drake had 14 carries for 34 yards and a seven-yard catch on two targets before exiting. The team didn't have an update on the starting running back's status after the game, but even the benefit of extra time to heal with the Cardinals on bye in Week 8 may not be enough for Drake to get back into game action in Week 9 against the Dolphins. Chase Edmonds took on a larger role after Drake's exit and would take over as the starter if Drake -- who was sobbing with his head in his hands on the sideline, per Mason Kern of SI.com -- is forced to miss any additional time.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Broncos' Melvin Gordon: Reaches end zone in blowout loss

Gordon registered 68 rushing yards and one touchdown on 17 carries, adding two catches for 12 yards during Sunday's 43-16 loss to the Chiefs. He also lost two fumbles.

Gordon was forced to sit out last week's win over New England with a case of strep throat, but he was thrust right back into a No. 1 role as Phillip Lindsay exited partway through Sunday's defeat due to a concussion. Lindsay slashed his way to 8.8 yards per carry on nine attempts prior to his departure, while Gordon rushed to a less efficient 4.0 yards-per-rush average, scoring one of Denver's two TDs on the ground. If Lindsay sits out Week 8, Gordon would be in line for a bellcow-like workload against the Chargers. Gordon is, however, still awaiting potential discipline from the league regarding an Oct. 14 DUI citation.

  • 49ers' JaMycal Hasty: Totals 73 scrimmage yards

Hasty carried nine times for 57 yards and turned his only target into a 16-yard gain during Sunday's 33-6 win over the Patriots.

Hasty gashed the Patriots for 6.3 yards per carry and got an increase in opportunites after Jeff Wilson Jr. (ankle) left the game with an injury. Wilson Jr. joins Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Tevin Coleman (knee) in the training room, which could open the door for Hasty to take on a featured role for next Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks. Coleman could return for that game, but he's been on injured reserve for a month and seems unlikely to play a major role even if he is activated.

  • Damien Harris RB | BUF

Patriots' Damien Harris: Effective in limited duty

Harris carried 10 times for 58 yards and turned his only target into a 12-yard gain during Sunday's 33-6 loss to the 49ers.

Harris gashed the San Francisco defense for 5.8 yards per carry and made a nice gain with his only reception, but his role was rather limited as his side went into the half down 20 points. Although it was a nice bounce-back effort after he managed just 19 yards on six carries against the Broncos a week ago, fantasy managers will likely be a bit disappointed with the limited usage. Harris has played well in two of this three outings this season and will look to put his best foot forward next Sunday against Buffalo.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Only five touches

Dillon carried the ball five times for 11 yards in Week 7 against the Texans.

Dillon was expected to get greater opportunity in the absence of Aaron Jones (calf). However, he was out-touched by Jamaal Williams 24-5 and managed just 11 total yards. Given that Jones' absence is expected to be brief, it's likely that Dillon missed the opportunity to command a bigger workload in the offense, at least for the time being. He and the Packers will take on the Vikings in Week 8.

  • Ronald Jones RB | DAL

Buccaneers' Ronald Jones: Saves fantasy day with TD

Jones rushed 13 times for 34 yards and a touchdown and brought in one of two targets for two yards in the Buccaneers' 45-20 win over the Raiders on Sunday.

Jones came into the contest riding the wave of three consecutive 100-yard rushing efforts, and although he fell considerably short of the century mark Sunday, he still managed to salvage the day for fantasy managers via a one-yard run with 6:40 remaining in the contest. However, it's worth noting the returning Leonard Fournette (ankle) made a significant impact on Jones' workload Sunday, with the former Jaguar logging just two fewer carries and outpacing Jones in the passing game by five targets. Therefore, the workload split between the two will be one to continue to monitor in a Week 8 Monday night matchup against the Giants.

  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Scores for first time since Week 1

Edwards-Helaire registered 46 rushing yards and a touchdown on eight carries, adding a 17-yard catch during Sunday's 43-16 win against Denver.

Edwards-Helaire snapped his scoring drought against his divisional rival, reaching the end zone for the first time since Week 1. The rookie only garnered eight of 17 RB carries against Denver on the afternoon, but the fact that Kansas City established a dominant third-quarter lead allowed for newcomer Le'Veon Bell and backup DeAndre Washington to gain more involvement. Edwards-Helaire entered Week 7 having commanded double-digit carries in every game this season while receiving an average of 17.8 attempts per contest. Whether Bell's arrival curtails that number slightly in a more balanced game script is yet to be seen, but Edwards-Helaire remains the starting RB heading into a Week 8 matchup against the Jets.
