  • Lawrence Cager TE | WAS

    Lawrence Cager: Dropped by Washington

Cager was cut by the Commanders on Tuesday, Zach Selby of the team's official website reports.

Cager recorded four catches for 54 yards while appearing in two preseason games with Washington. The tight end will look for another opportunity, and he will now likely have to settle for a practice squad spot ahead of the 2025 season.

  • Patrick Herbert: Parts ways with Jacksonville

The Jaguars waived Herbert on Tuesday.

Herbert inked a contract with Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in late April and caught two of five targets for 11 yards during the team's three-game preseason schedule. He's a candidate for a spot on the club's practice squad.

  • John Copenhaver: Unable to land roster spot

    Jacksonville waived Copenhaver on Tuesday.

Copenhaver joined the Jags as an undrafted free agent in late April and caught his only target for six yards over three preseason games. He'll likely look to land a spot on a club's practice squad.

  • Stephen Carlson: Released by Bears

    Chicago released Carlson on Tuesday.

Carlson is healthy after having missed all of the 2024 season due to a collarbone injury, but he's now among a number of cuts made by the Bears to get down to a 53-man roster. The 28-year-old will likely look to resurface on a practice squad, whether with the Bears or elsewhere in the league.

  • Maximilian Mang: Fails to make Indy's roster

The Colts waived Mang on Tuesday, Amanda Foster of the team's official site reports.

Mang didn't see a target across two preseason games, and the undrafted rookie out of Syracuse will now go on waivers. Assuming he goes unclaimed, Mang will look to catch on with a team in need of depth at tight end.

  • Rivaldo Fairweather: Waived by Cowboys

    Dallas waived Fairweather on Tuesday.

Fairweather spent the offseason competing for a reserve role with the Cowboys, but he couldn't earn one of limited spots on the initial 53-man roster. The undrafted rookie out of Auburn may be a candidate to pop back up on the practice squad.

  • Shawn Bowman TE | JAC

Shawn Bowman: Cut on cutdown day

The Jaguars waived Bowman on Tuesday.

Bowman originally signed with Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in April of 2024. He was a member of the team's practice squad all of last season and could end up there again if he clears waivers.

  • Quintin Morris TE | JAC

Quintin Morris: Let loose by Jags

    Jacksonville released Morris on Tuesday.

Morris joined the Jaguars on a one-year contract in mid-May, but he wasn't able to make the team's initial 53-man roster. The tight end will likely look for work with another team after spending the past three seasons with Buffalo.

  • Sean McKeon TE | IND

    Sean McKeon: Cut by Indianapolis

The Colts released McKeon on Tuesday, Amanda Foster of the team's official site reports.

McKeon inked a futures deal with the Colts in January after spending the entire 2024 season on the team's practice squad. He finished the preseason with two catches on as many targets for eight yards across two games, but his performance throughout training camp wasn't enough for him to crack the 53-man roster. McKeon will likely clear waivers, at which point he could remain in Indianapolis by joining the Colts' practice squad for a second consecutive year.

  • Mark Redman TE | LAR

Mark Redman: Doesn't make 53-man roster

Redman was waived by the Rams on Tuesday.

Redman, an undrafted rookie out of Louisville, overcame an undisclosed injury at the start of training camp to play in all three of the Rams' preseason games, finishing with five catches (on seven targets) for 41 yards. The Rams opted to go with Terrance Ferguson, Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen as the backup tight ends behind Tyler Higbee, so Redman will explore his next opportunities and try to catch on with a team in need of tight end depth, assuming he clears waivers.
