  • Max Brosmer QB | MIN

Vikings' Max Brosmer: Will start against Seattle

Brosmer will start Sunday's game against the Seahawks after J.J. McCarthy (concussion) was ruled out Friday, Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

With Carson Wentz (shoulder) on injured reserve, Brosmer is the next man up under center for Minnesota. The 24-year-old rookie signed with the Vikings after he wasn't drafted out of Minnesota. Brosmer has attempted eight regular-season passes this season, completing five for 42 scoreless yards. During the preseason, Brosmer completed 60 percent of his 58 pass attempts for 364 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Seattle defense is a better one-for-one fantasy bet than Brosmer.

  • Chris Olave WR | NO

Saints' Chris Olave: Listed as questionable

Olave (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Miami after returning to practice Friday as a limited participant.

A quick return to practice suggests Olave's injury isn't serious. He left practice early Wednesday and didn't participate Thursday, but mixing back into drills at the end of the week -- even in a limited capacity -- suggests he's got a real chance to avoid the inactive list ahead of a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

    Saints' Alvin Kamara: Ruled out

Kamara (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, WWL's Jeff Novak reports.

Kamara predictably didn't practice this week after suffering an MCL sprain during last week's loss to Atlanta. Rookie Devin Neal (ankle) is expected to fill in as the lead back this Sunday, and perhaps beyond, though Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Friday that Kamara won't be placed on injured reserve, per Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football.

  • Byron Young LB | LAR

Rams' Byron Young: Likely playing in Week 13

Young (knee) won't practice Friday but is expected to play in Sunday's matchup against the Panthers, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.

Despite Young downgrading from a limited practice session Thursday to a DNP on Friday, he's expected to suit up for the Week 13 contest. The third-year pro from Tennessee has appeared in all 11 of the Rams' games this season, recording 53 total tackles, including 9.0 sacks, and one forced fumble. If active as expected, Young will likely start opposite Jared Verse to form Los Angeles' top edge-rush duo.

  • J.J. McCarthy QB | MIN

Vikings' J.J. McCarthy: Ruled out for Sunday

McCarthy (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Seattle, Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

McCarthy made enough progress though the concussion protocol to log limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, but Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell revealed Friday that the QB remains in protocol. Rookie Max Brosmer will make his first NFL start, after handling the first-team reps at practice this week.

  • Chris Olave WR | NO

Saints' Chris Olave: Returns to practice

Olave (back) returned to practice Friday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Olave left Wednesday's practice early and then didn't participate Thursday, but it appears he still has a shot to play this Sunday against the Dolphins.

  • Steelers' Joey Porter: Cleared to play Week 13

Porter (hip) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Bills, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Porter missed some practice time with the injury this week after he was injured in last Sunday's loss to the Bears, but the cornerback is good to go for the Week 13 date with Buffalo. Porter has recorded 28 tackles (20 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and 11 pass breakups, including one interception, across eight appearances this season.

  • Ben Skowronek WR | PIT

Steelers' Ben Skowronek: Good to go for Week 13

Skowronek (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Bills, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Skowronek logged a pair of DNPs Wednesday and Thursday before practicing fully Friday. The 28-year-old wide receiver has three catches for 56 yards and one touchdown on four targets across 11 appearances this season.

  • Jalen Pitre SAF | HOU

Texans' Jalen Pitre: Returning Week 13

Head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed Friday that Pitre has cleared concussion protocol and will play in Sunday's matchup against the Colts, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Pitre had missed the Texans' last three games after sustaining a concussion in the Week 9 loss to the Broncos. The fourth-year pro is an integral part of Houston's defense, recording 46 total tackles and five passes defensed, including three interceptions, across just eight appearances this season. Now fully healthy, he's expected to play as the Texans' top slot defender in Sunday's divisional clash.

  • Titans' Lloyd Cushenberry: Missing Week 13

Cushenberry (foot) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Cushenberry sustained a foot injury in Tennessee's Week 12 loss to the Seahawks and didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so it's no surprise that he won't play Sunday. While the 28-year-old is sidelined Week 13, expect Jackson Slater to start at center.
