  Vlasic (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, according to PuckPedia. Vlasic has resumed skating, but he still needs time to continue progressing from his injury. The 37-year-old is considered week-to-week ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. Vlasic registered 12 points and a minus-27 rating in 57 regular-season contests in 2023-24.

  Head coach Ryan Warsofsky said Monday that Vlasic (upper body) has resumed skating on his own and is considered week-to-week, Max Miller of NHL.com reports. Vlasic has been sidelined since the start of training camp due to an upper-body injury, and it appears as though he'll miss the start of the 2024-25 regular season. It's not yet clear whether he'll require an IR stint to begin the year, but it's at least encouraging that he's been skating on his own ahead of Opening Night.

  Vlasic (upper body) will be sidelined versus Anaheim on Tuesday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports. Vlasic managed just two points in the final 17 games of the 2024-25 campaign, finishing the year with 12 points in 57 outings. The veteran blueliner is far from a lock to be in the lineup on a nightly basis moving forward, especially given the younger players on the team looking for more opportunities. Even with a full 82-game campaign, Vlasic is unlikely to offer significantly more offensive production than he has in past seasons.

  Vlasic will miss the start of training camp with an upper-body injury. Vlasic is entering his 19th season in the NHL -- all with San Jose. The veteran had six goals, six assists, 35 hits and 108 blocked shots in 57 games during the regular season in 2023-24. There is no word at this time as to whether or not he will be ready for the start of the regular season Oct. 10 versus St. Louis.

  Vlasic logged an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken. Vlasic has two helpers over his last three contests following a six-game dry spell on offense. The veteran defenseman is not a consistent source of points, especially while filling a bottom-four role for the Sharks. He's at 12 points, 59 shots on net, 94 blocked shots and a minus-20 rating through 49 appearances this season.
