  • Grubauer allowed three goals on 28 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Colorado. Through four appearances, Grubauer has given up at least three goals on three occasions, and he's been on the hook for three losses. It wouldn't be surprising to see Joey Daccord take the No. 1 netminding role, at least in the short term -- he's won all three of his starts to open the 2024-25 campaign. Grubauer has a 1-3-0 record, .881 save percentage and 3.10 GAA.

  • Grubauer will protect the home goal versus the Avalanche on Tuesday, Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times reports. Grubauer will make his fourth start of the season as the Kraken continue to alternate between him and Joey Daccord. Grubauer has allowed nine goals on 73 shots, but he won his last start despite allowing four goals to Philadelphia. The 32-year-old netminder played three years with the Avalanche, the last of which was his lone 30-win campaign in the NHL.

  • Grubauer stopped 21 of 25 shots in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Flyers. Grubauer finally got some goal support, and he needed it. A four-goal explosion in the second period lifted the Kraken to the win, which was their first victory with Grubauer between the pipes this season. He's allowed nine goals on 73 shots over his three starts. So far, Seattle has alternated between Grubauer and Joey Daccord -- if that continues, Daccord is penciled in to start versus the Flames on Saturday, while Grubauer would get his former team, the Avalanche, on Tuesday.

  • Grubauer was the first goalie off the ice during morning skate, Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network reports, and is expected to get the home start versus the Flyers on Thursday. Grubauer has shared the net with Joey Daccord thus far, as they have been rotating starting assignments. Grubauer is 0-2-0, giving up five goals on 48 shots in losses to St. Louis and Dallas. The Flyers will complete their four-game road trip to start the season in Seattle. Philadelphia is 1-1-1 on the road trip, averaging 3.00 goals per game.

  • Grubauer stopped 21 of 23 shots in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Stars. Aside from a 13-second span late in the first period, Grubauer was excellent. He gave up two goals in that stretch, and that was enough to sink the Kraken in this contest. Grubauer has allowed five goals on 48 shots over his first two starts this year, so he's a little unlucky to be 0-2-0. The good news is that the Kraken's defensive system is working fairly well early in the year, but that hasn't always led to success for the team's goalies.
