Donskoi announced his retirement from the NHL on Sunday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Donskoi missed the entire 2022-23 campaign while dealing with a concussion. He scored 80 goals and 208 points in 474 career contests, including a career-high 37 points during the 2018-19 season with the Sharks. Donskoi last played during the 2021-22 season, when he tallied 22 points in 75 games for Seattle.

Donskoi suffered a concussion during preseason and has yet to return to the ice, Tiia Honkamaa of Jatkoaika reports. Donskoi suffered the injury on Sept. 29 when he collided with teammate Kole Lind in a game versus the Canucks. Donskoi has yet to skate since the incident as he is still suffering from headaches, vertigo and continues to have problems with his eyesight. His hockey career is in doubt as this was the seventh concussion he has sustained.

Donskoi (upper body) is still listed as day-to-day, Scott Malone of Root Sports reports. Coach Dave Hakstol said Monday that Donskoi's status hasn't changed. The Kraken forward hasn't played yet this season and remains on injured reserve. Donskoi posted two goals and 22 points in 75 games last campaign.

Donskoi (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, per CapFriendly. Donskoi was injured during training camp and there hasn't been much information on when he might return. Seattle begins its season Wednesday in Anaheim, so there should be some update on his status in the coming days.

Donskoi (upper body) didn't take part in Monday's practice, Andy Eide of the Kraken's official site reports. Donskoi is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury. He was hurt last Thursday in an exhibition game against Vancouver.
