  Edstrom recorded an assist, three hits and two shots on goal in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes. The 24-year-old assisted on Jimmy Vesey's goal 17 seconds into Sunday's game, marking the first time Edstrom has gotten on the scoresheet since Nov. 27, when he logged a goal against Carolina. Edstrom regularly sees fourth-line minutes and has been limited to two goals and two assists to go with 58 hits while averaging 8:58 of ice time over his first 33 appearances of the season. The Swede's unlikely to move up significantly from his fourth-line role, which limits his fantasy value.

Edstrom has been a sturdy bottom-six winger this season who has amassed two goals, one assist, 17 shots, 21 PIM and 38 hits in 21 games. Nice night for Edstrom, who prioritizes physical play over offense. His fantasy value is extremely limited.

  Edstrom scored a goal on two shots and logged two hits in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Islanders. Edstrom scored a bit of a fluky goal, as the puck popped up in the air and landed in the net with Ilya Sorokin failing to react to it. That goal stretched the Rangers' lead to 4-2. Edstrom has consistently filled a fourth-line role this season, and he rarely sees much more than 7-9 minutes of ice time per game. He has two points, eight shots on net, 19 hits, 17 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 11 appearances.

  Edstrom was called up from AHL Hartford on Tuesday, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today. Edstrom was sent down to the minors Monday in a paper transaction. He is expected to be in the lineup for Opening Night on Wednesday versus Pittsburgh in a bottom-six role. He scored two goals in 11 regular-season contests with the Rangers in 2023-24.

  Edstrom will be reassigned to AHL Hartford on Monday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports. Edstrom's stint in the minors is expected to be temporary, as the Rangers are doing some cap gymnastics with their lineup. Don't be surprised to see the Swede recalled ahead of Wednesday's season opener versus the Penguins. He figures to serve in a middle-six role and could even get a look with the No. 2 power-play unit.
