  • Lankinen made 26 saves in a 4-3 win over Ottawa on Saturday. He bent but didn't break late in the third period when the Senators stormed the castle. Lankinen allowed two late goals in a 2:47 span with the Sens net empty and the extra attacker on the ice. One of those goals came while the Sens were up six-on-four, and Lanks barely had a chance. Still, it was a strong rebound for Lankinen, who'd been lit up for 16 goals in his previous four games. His play continues to give the Orcas a chance while Thatcher Demko (knee) is on IR.

  • Lankinen will protect the road net versus Ottawa on Saturday, according to Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet. Lankinen has lost his last two outings, surrendering eight goals on 52 shots. He has posted a mark of 8-3-2 with one shutout, a 2.71 GAA and a .902 save percentage through 13 appearances this season. Ottawa sits 15th in the league with 3.11 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Lankinen stopped 16 of 20 shots in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Predators. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Lankinen's former team got the better of him Sunday, though three of the four goals he let in were to players that weren't in Nashville last season. The 29-year-old has allowed at least four goals in three of his last four starts. He's down to an 8-3-2 record with a 2.71 GAA and a .901 save percentage through 13 games. Those are fine numbers, but Lankinen is trending in the wrong direction and may cede the crease to Arturs Silovs more regularly until a hot hand emerges between the two of them.

  • Lankinen will defend the home crease Sunday against the Predators, Ben Kuzma of Postmedia reports. Lankinen will have a chance to get back in the win column Sunday against one of his former teams -- the Finnish netminder spent the past two seasons with the Predators. The 29-year-old sports an 8-2-2 record, .907 save percentage and 2.60 GAA through 12 outings with Vancouver. Nashville ranks last in the NHL with 2.28 goals per game across 18 contests.

  • Lankinen stopped 27 of 31 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. The Canucks were listless through two periods before finding a bit more juice in the third. The damage had already been done, and Lankinen ended up on the hook for his second regulation loss in three games. The 29-year-old is 8-2-2 on the year while posting a 2.60 GAA and a .907 save percentage over 12 contests, but he's started to turn inconsistent amid his heavy workload early in the season. Arturs Silovs hasn't put in a competitive effort in the backup role, so Lankinen is likely to continue starting regularly. Both goalies should feature during this weekend's back-to-back as the Canucks host the Blackhawks on Saturday and the Predators on Sunday.
