  • Shane Pinto C | OTT

Senators' Shane Pinto: Nets game-winner Monday

Pinto scored a goal on seven shots in Monday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

Pinto's tally at 6:17 of the third period was the game-winner. Five of his 11 goals on the season have been game-winners. The 24-year-old remained on the third line in the wake of Josh Norris (undisclosed) being labeled week-to-week, but both Pinto and second-line fill-in Ridly Greig figure to pick up some slack on offense. Pinto has 22 points, 91 shots on net, 41 hits, 33 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 45 outings, and he plays in all situations.

  • Ridly Greig C | OTT

    Senators' Ridly Greig: Deposits empty-netter

Greig scored a empty-net goal on two shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Monday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

Greig has three goals and an assist during his four-game point streak. He was also tabbed to fill the second-line spot vacated by Josh Norris (undisclosed), who is week-to-week. Both Greig and third-line center Shane Pinto saw bumps in ice time, and each of them scored in this contest. They'll both be interesting short-term options for fantasy managers. For the season, Greig is at nine goals, 17 points, 69 shots on net, 91 hits, 32 PIM and a minus-7 rating over 50 appearances.

  • Sharks' Andrew Poturalski: Summoned from minors

Poturalski was recalled from AHL San Jose on Tuesday.

Poturalski could make his 2024-25 debut against the Canadiens on Tuesday -- the Sharks are dealing with numerous injuries to their forward group. The 31-year-old did not record a point in two appearances with the Kraken in 2023-24. Before being recalled, the New York native was leading the AHL in scoring with 18 goals and 45 points across 41 games.

  • Adam Edstrom C | NYR

Rangers' Adam Edstrom: Facing extended absence

Edstrom (lower body) will be sidelined for two and a half to three and a half months, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports Tuesday.

Edstrom was injured in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Boston and did not play Sunday against the Golden Knights. Given Edstrom's timeline, the 6-foot-7 forward may not return to game action in the regular season. Jimmy Vesey and Arthur Kaliyev should receive more opportunities to play in Edstrom's stead.

  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Not playing Tuesday

Thompson (upper body) won't play against Columbus on Tuesday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.

Thompson is day-to-day after being injured in Sunday's 4-3 win over New Jersey. Buffalo visits Nashville on Saturday before a 13-day break due to the 4 Nations Face-Off. It's unclear whether or not Thompson will return before the tournament. He has accounted for 26 goals, 48 points, 145 shots on net, 22 blocked shots and 42 hits across 47 appearances this season. Based on Tuesday's morning skate, Isak Rosen will replace Thompson on the team's top line.

  • Ben Jones C | MIN

Wild's Ben Jones: Sent to minors

Jones was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Tuesday, according to Michael Russo of The Athletic.

Jones was sent down in order to make room for Marcus Johansson (concussion), who was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move. Jones has not recorded a point over 26 appearances with Minnesota this season.

  • Senators' Adam Gaudette: Two points in Monday's win

Gaudette produced a goal and an assist in Monday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

After a scoreless first period, the 28-year-old got the Senators on the board midway through the second before the team took control of the game in the final frame, with Gaudette helping to set up Shane Pinto's eventual game-winner. Gaudette snapped a seven-game point drought with the performance, and the multi-point effort was his first since Nov. 27. While his bottom-six role gives him limited fantasy value, Gaudette has already set a new career high with 16 goals in 52 games, and his plus-12 rating is also on track to be a personal best.

  • Lightning's Conor Geekie: Sent down to minors

Geekie (arm) was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday.

Geekie's demotion clears up any lingering concerns regarding his arm injury, as NHL rules prevent injured players from being reassigned to the minors. The 20-year-old center is currently mired in a nine-game pointless streak dating back to Jan. 14 versus the Bruins, so the decision to get him some opportunities in the minors shouldn't come as a surprise. It seems the Bolts will head into Tuesday's clash with Ottawa without a spare forward, but don't be shocked to see the Bolts add an option ahead of a road clash with Detroit on Saturday.

  • Blue Jackets' Dylan Gambrell: Brought up from minors

Gambrell was summoned from AHL Cleveland on an emergency recall Monday.

Gambrell will provide Columbus with a depth option after Kirill Marchenko (jaw) moved to injured reserve Monday. The 28-year-old Gambrell has nine goals and 20 points in 31 AHL appearances this campaign. He has 17 goals and 40 points in 233 NHL regular-season outings.

  • Flyers' Ryan Poehling: Labeled day-to-day

Poehling (upper body) is considered day-to-day ahead of Tuesday's matchup with Utah.

Poehling would need to be activated off injured reserve prior to puck drop Tuesday but seems to be nearing a return to action. The 26-year-old center has been on the shelf since Jan. 16 versus the Islanders, a stretch of eight games on injured reserve.
