  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Logs power-play helper

Tomasino recorded a power-play assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Tomasino has two points over three contests since he returned from a four-game absence due to a lower-body injury. The 23-year-old set up a Cody Glass tally in the second period, which stood as the game-winner. Tomasino is now at 10 points (five on the power play) through 30 appearances between Pittsburgh and Nashville this season. He's added 52 shots on net, 26 hits and a minus-3 rating while often filling a middle-six role since he was traded to the Penguins.

  • Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Strikes on power play Friday

Rakell scored a power-play goal on two shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Rakell's goal early in the second period tied the game at 1-1. The 31-year-old forward has not slowed down in January, racking up six goals and two assists, including three power-play points, over eight contests this month. For the season, he has 23 goals, 39 points, 119 shots on net, 76 hits, 52 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating over 47 appearances. He's already surpassed his output of 37 points from 2023-24, and a return to the 60-point mark is a possibility at his current pace.

  • Cody Glass C | NJ

Penguins' Cody Glass: Earns two points in win

Glass scored a power-play goal on three shots and added an assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Glass ended a seven-game point drought with the multi-point effort. He fed Anthony Beauvillier on a breakaway for the Penguins' go-ahead goal before scoring the game-winner himself midway through the second period. Glass has not consistently seen power-play time this season but got a chance Friday with Kris Letang (illness) out of the lineup. Glass is now at two goals, 11 points, 45 shots on net, 30 hits, 21 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating over 34 appearances, mainly in a bottom-six role.

  • Flyers' Ryan Poehling: Unavailable Saturday

Poehling (upper body) will not be in the lineup against New Jersey on Saturday, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Poehling was injured Thursday after taking a hit to the head, courtesy of the Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov. Olle Lycksell will replace Poehling in the lineup Saturday. Poehling has four goals and 15 points across 43 appearances this season.

  • Flames' Yegor Sharangovich: Scores again Thursday

Sharangovich scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Blues.

Sharangovich has three points, including two goals, over his last three games. The 26-year-old has moved back to center while Connor Zary (lower body) is out, and Sharangovich has shown strong chemistry with Rory Kerins and Jakob Pelletier on the third line. For the season, Sharangovich has 14 points, 78 shots on net and a minus-6 rating through 37 outings, so he may be more of a streaming option unless he stays hot over a long stretch.

  • Blues' Robert Thomas: Supplies helper in win

Thomas provided an assist and fired four shots on goal in Thursday's 4-1 win over Calgary.

Thomas has three goals and two assists over seven outings in January. The 25-year-old center has slowed down after a 19-point December, but he's still offering strong offense from a top-line role. For the season, Thomas has 34 points, 79 shots on net, 28 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating across 34 appearances.

  • Jordan Kyrou C | STL

Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Nets goal Thursday

Kyrou scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over Calgary.

Kyrou has racked up six goals and four assists over 10 games since the holiday break. The 26-year-old forward stretched the Blues' lead to 3-0 in a strong first period Thursday. Kyrou achieved his fourth straight 20-goal campaign and is on pace to reach the 30-goal mark for the third year in a row. He's at 39 points, 135 shots on net and a plus-10 rating over 46 appearances.

  • Islanders' Mathew Barzal: Tallies in Thursday's loss

Barzal scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.

Barzal scored 30 seconds into the third period, cutting the Flyers' lead to 3-2 at the time. Barzal has been in good form lately with two goals and six assists over his last nine contests, though he has yet to earn a power-play point over 13 outings since he returned from an upper-body injury. The 27-year-old has produced 14 points, 59 shots on net and a plus-4 rating through 23 appearances.

  • Morgan Frost C | CGY

Flyers' Morgan Frost: Pots goal in Thursday's win

Frost scored a goal on five shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Islanders.

Frost extended his point streak to five games (four goals, two assists) when he put the Flyers ahead 3-1 in the second period. The 25-year-old's 19:22 of ice time was his third-highest mark this season and the most he's had in a game since Oct. 23. The center now has 11 goals, 24 points, 79 shots on net and a minus-8 rating through 42 appearances. He's had some bumps in the road in 2024-25, but Frost is in the midst of one of his best stretches of the campaign.

  • Sean Kuraly C | BOS

Blue Jackets' Sean Kuraly: Records assist Thursday

Kuraly registered an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Sharks.

Kuraly set up a Kent Johnson tally in the first period. The helper was Kuraly's second point over the last four contests. The 31-year-old center remains in a bottom-six role, so consistent contributions on offense aren't to be expected. He has 11 points, 39 shots on net, 103 hits and an even plus-minus rating through 45 appearances.
