  • Jared McCann C | SEA

Kraken's Jared McCann: Eight points in last nine games

McCann netted a goal in a 4-2 win over the Rangers on Monday.

McCann has eight points (four goals, four assists) and 23 shots in his last nine games. He has nine goals, seven assists and 50 shots in 20 games this season. That's a mid-60s pace, which makes him incredibly consistent for his managers. In his last three seasons, McCann put up 70, 62 and 61 points and averaged 30 goals each season, and he's on that same pace in 2025-26.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Fourth goal in last four games

Catton scored the game-winning goal Monday in a 4-2 win over the Rangers.

Catton jammed a rebound past Jonathan Quick with 7:58 left in regulation. It was his fourth goal of the season, and fourth goal in his last four games (nine shots). The 19-year-old winger has struggled to find his touch this season -- he had gone nine games prior without a point, and he had just five helpers in 27 games to start the season. But this burst shows off his touch and has clearly given him a confidence boost.

  • Blackhawks' Teuvo Teravainen: Won't return Monday

Teravainen (upper body) will not finish Monday's home contest against the Oilers.

Teravainen had seven shifts in which he logged one takeaway in 5:27 of ice time before exiting the game. Until his status is updated prior to Thursday's home matchup versus Calgary, Teravainen should be considered day-to-day.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Injured in Philadelphia

Point (lower body) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game in Philadelphia.

Immediately after Point scored a goal on the power play during the middle frame, Cam York fell onto Point's right leg, per Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com. Point wasn't able to leave the ice under his own power and ultimately did not return to the game. The Lightning will play in the second half of a back-to-back Tuesday in Pittsburgh, so given the quick turnaround, Point should not be expected to be available for that matchup. It's a possibility the right-shot center will return to Tampa Bay in the near future to be fully evaluated. The Lightning's current road trip concludes Sunday in Dallas.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Not suiting up against Edmonton

Bedard (illness) will not be an option for Monday's home matchup versus the Oilers, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Per Friedman, Bedard is contending with the flu. The up-and-coming star recently returned to the lineup following a 12-game absence as a result of a shoulder injury, notching two assists (one on the power play), seven shots and a plus-1 rating across two contests. Colton Dach will draw into the lineup Monday, while Ryan Greene is set to center the top line between Tyler Bertuzzi and Andre Burakovsky in Bedard's stead. Chicago's next game is at home against Calgary on Thursday.

  • Lightning's Curtis Douglas: Sent to AHL for conditioning

Douglas was sent to AHL Syracuse on Monday on a conditioning assignment.

Douglas has been a healthy scratch for the Lightning in six consecutive games and eight of their last nine. His conditioning assignment can stay in effect for up to 14 days. Douglas has accounted for two helpers, 75 PIM, 29 hits and a plus-1 rating over 27 appearances with the big club this season.

  • Will Smith C | SJ

    Sharks' Will Smith: Considered day-to-day

Head coach Ryan Warsofsky said Monday that Smith (upper body) is considered day-to-day, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.

Warsofsky already indicated Sunday that Smith would travel with the Sharks ahead of their upcoming four-game road trip, which begins Thursday in Washington and runs through Jan. 20 in Tampa Bay. Smith's status for Thursday's matchup against the Capitals remains uncertain, but he's shed his non-contact jersey in practice, which Warsofsky said was the next step in the 20-year-old's recovery process.

  • Sharks' Philipp Kurashev: Not traveling with team

Kurashev (upper body) won't be with the Sharks when they leave for a four-game road trip, Max Miller of NHL.com reports, though he could join up later if cleared.

Kurashev has been out of action since getting hurt Dec. 13 versus the Penguins, a stretch of 12 games on injured reserve. Prior to getting hurt, the winger was mired in a 12-game goal drought, during which he generated a mere 11 shots to go with three helpers.

  • Penguins' Blake Lizotte: Snags three-year deal

Lizotte agreed to terms on a three-year, $6.75 million contract extension with Pittsburgh on Monday.

While Lizotte may not have a ton of fantasy upside, he has 10 points in 35 games this season, but he plays significant shorthanded minutes for the Penguins (2:32 per game). As such, it's not a shock to see the organization locking up the fourth-line center for another three years at a reasonable $2.25 million cap hit.

  • Golden Knights' William Karlsson: Out through trade deadline

Karlsson (lower body) is not expected back before the March 6 trade deadline, SinBin Vegas reports Monday.

Karlsson could be in danger of missing the rest of the season, and it appears surgery has not been ruled out. If the team does officially shut the 33-year-old center down, it would be able to get the full relief from his $5.9 million cap hit. If this does mark the end of his season, Karlsson will finish the year having generated four goals and three assists in 14 contests.
