  • Marco Rossi C | VAN

Wild's Marco Rossi: Placed on injured reserve

Rossi (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Friday.

Head coach John Hynes revealed earlier Friday that Rossi is considered week-to-week, so it isn't very surprising to see the 24-year-old officially land on injured reserve. Ryan Hartman and Joel Eriksson Ek will likely take on top-six roles in Rossi's absence, while Danila Yurov should see increased opportunities.

  • Jack Hughes C | NJ

Devils' Jack Hughes: Suffers hand injury

Hughes suffered a hand injury, the team announced Friday, and he's expected to miss Saturday's game in Washington.

Hughes cut his hand in a "fluke accident" during a team dinner Thursday, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. Hughes is still being evaluated, so an exact timetable for his recovery hasn't been revealed. He's been a key part of the Devils' offense with 10 goals and 20 points through 17 appearances this year. Juho Lammikko will probably draw into the lineup Saturday and serve in a bottom-six role, but who will move into the top six is less certain. Connor Brown (upper body) probably would if he was healthy, but he's not believed to be ready to return, and Cody Glass (undisclosed) might not be an option either. If Glass isn't available, then perhaps Stefan Noesen will move up to the top six.

  • Alex Newhook C | MON

Canadiens' Alex Newhook: Undergoes surgery Friday

Newhook had surgery to repair a fractured ankle Friday and will be sidelined for four months.

Based on his timeline, Newhook figures to be out of action until at least mid-March. It's a huge blow for the 24-year-old center, who was putting together a solid season with 12 points in 17 games -- numbers that could have seen him top the 40-point threshold for the first time in his NHL career. Fantasy managers can likely expect Newhook to be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

  • Blue Jackets' Luca Del Bel Belluz: Collects first helper

Del Bel Belluz notched an assist and three shots on goal in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.

The helper was Del Bel Belluz's first point in four games this season. He's added five shots on net, five blocked shots and one hit while averaging just 9:58 of ice time. The 22-year-old, a natural center, is playing on the wing currently and will likely have a chance to work his way into true top-six minutes while Boone Jenner (upper body) is out.

  • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Goal streak up to three games

Fantilli scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.

Fantilli has scored in three straight games and has six points over his last four outings. A move to a line with Kirill Marchenko and Dmitri Voronkov has fueled this uptick in Fantilli's production. For the season, Fantilli is at five goals, seven assists, 44 shots on net, 18 hits, 10 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 17 appearances. The 21-year-old center could be setting up for a breakout season, though he's currently at a pace roughly equal to the one that earned him 54 points in 82 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Bruins' Mark Kastelic: Pots goal in loss

Kastelic scored a goal and added five hits in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Senators.

Kastelic has a goal and two assists during a three-game point streak. The 26-year-old has moved into a third-line role this season after starting on the fourth line. He's at seven points, 24 shots on net, 39 hits, 23 blocked shots, 17 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 19 appearances. He won't offer a ton of offense, but he makes up for it with some category coverage that gives him appeal in deeper fantasy formats.

  • Tyler Seguin C | DAL

Stars' Tyler Seguin: Scores in blowout win

Seguin scored a goal in Thursday's 7-0 win over the Canadiens.

Seguin has picked up the pace with three goals over his last five contests. The 33-year-old is up to six goals, two assists, 24 shots on net, 11 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 18 appearances this season. He's got some scoring upside, but the results just haven't fallen into place yet. Seguin should continue to be a regular in the Stars' top six throughout the season.

  • Kevin Rooney C | UTA

Mammoth's Kevin Rooney: Sent to AHL

Rooney was assigned to AHL Tucson on Friday.

Rooney spent just over three weeks with the Mammoth, but he didn't appear in any games during his time with the NHL club. He should have more consistent opportunities for playing time in the minors, where he's racked up three goals, an assist and a plus-2 rating over four appearances with the Roadrunners this year.

  • Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Nets 100th career goal

Johnston scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 7-0 win over the Canadiens.

Johnston's opening tally at 14:21 of the first period was the 100th goal of his career. He's taken off in November with five goals and six assists over his last seven contests. The 22-year-old center is up to 11 tallies, 21 points (13 on the power play), 53 shots on net, 17 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating across 18 appearances this season while averaging 21:19 of ice time.

  • Ducks' Mikael Granlund: Scores in return

Granlund scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Red Wings.

Granlund missed the previous eight games due to a lower-body injury. Outside of his five-point effort versus the Bruins on Oct. 23, Granlund has had a fairly pedestrian season in a middle-six role. That big outing has him at three goals, six helpers, 21 shots on net and a plus-3 rating over nine appearances, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect Granlund to sustain a point-per-game pace in the long run.
