  • Canadiens' Oliver Kapanen: Two points vs. Utah

Kapanen recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday's 6-2 win over Utah.

Kapanen found the back of the net at the 14:45 mark of the first period with a snap shot, giving him his sixth goal of the season, and he later set up Alex Newhook's goal in the second frame. This was Kapanen's second multi-point game of the season, and it was also the third time he's posted points in back-to-back games. He has 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 15 games this season, but the lack of consistency on a game-to-game basis, as well as his absence on power-play duties, limit his upside a bit.

  • Bo Horvat C | NYI

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Finds twine twice

Horvat scored two goals, including one on the power play, and put five shots on net in Saturday's 5-0 shutout win over the Rangers.

Horvat tallied the opening goal midway through the first period before finding the back of the net on a power play late in the second. With Saturday's performance, Horvat extended his point streak to five games, and he has 18 points through 15 outings this year. The top-line center has 11 goals to start the year, which is tied for third in the league, behind only Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and Montreal's Cole Caufield. It's early, but Horvat is on pace to easily surpass his career high of 70 points.

  • Sharks' Zack Ostapchuk: Placed back in minors

Ostapchuk has been re-assigned to AHL San Jose by the Sharks, the team announced Sunday.

It was a brief stay for Ostapchuk in his latest NHL stint; he was up for just three games and didn't appear in any of them while serving as the 13th forward. The 22-year-old will head back to the AHL, where he's recorded two goals and one assist in nine games so far this season.

  • Hurricanes' Jesperi Kotkaniemi: Snaps drought with two points

Kotkaniemi recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Sabres.

Kotkaniemi scored his second goal of the season midway through the second period to give the Hurricanes a 3-1 lead, and he later set up Eric Robinson's tally early in the third to make it 4-1. This two-point performance snapped a six-game point drought for the 25-year-old Kotkaniemi, but fantasy managers shouldn't get overly excited. This was his first multi-point game of the season, and his bottom-six role in the lineup will limit his chances to keep producing on a regular basis.

  • Frank Nazar C | CHI

    Blackhawks' Frank Nazar: Game-time decision

Nazar (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Red Wings, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Nazar was injured during Friday's game against the Flames, but whether he plays in Sunday's matinee against the Red Wings or not, there isn't a ton of concern this could be a lengthy lineup absence. The 21-year-old has 11 points (five goals, six assists) through 15 games so far but none in his last five. Should the young center miss the game Sunday, expect Sam Lafferty to draw into the lineup in his place.

  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Scores, assists in loss

Thompson recorded a goal, an assist, four shots and two hits in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes.

Thompson was involved in both of the Sabres' third-period goals, setting up Alex Tuch's strike and later finding the twine with a snap shot past Pyotr Kochetkov at the 6:49 mark. Even though those two goals weren't enough to mount a late comeback, at least they allowed Thompson to snap a brief two-game pointless skid. The 28-year-old center has three points in four games this month after opening the season with nine points (four goals, five assists) in 11 contests in October.

  • Red Wings' Nate Danielson: Brought up from minors

Danielson was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids on Sunday.

Danielson has produced one goal and four assists in four minor-league appearances this season. The 21-year-old forward might make his NHL debut against Chicago on Sunday, but it's unclear who will come out of the lineup if that happens.

  • Bruins' Michael Eyssimont: Nets power-play marker

Eyssimont scored a power-play goal on three shots and added four PIM in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Maple Leafs.

Eyssimont ended a four-game point drought with his go-ahead goal early in the second period. The 29-year-old is getting a look on the second power-play unit, and if that usage sticks, it could help his offense in the long run. Eyssimont has done fine so far with four goals, eight points, 36 shots on net, 10 hits, 15 PIM and a minus-5 rating over 17 appearances this season, which is already halfway to his 16-point total over 77 regular-season contests in 2024-25, split between the Lightning and the Kraken.

  • Ethen Frank C | WAS

Capitals' Ethen Frank: Notches helper in return

Frank registered an assist in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Lightning.

Frank missed four games due to an upper-body injury. He returned to a fourth-line role and saw 12:19 of ice time in this contest. The 27-year-old is not guaranteed a spot in the lineup, as he'll have to compete with Sonny Milano for playing time. Frank has two helpers, three shots on net, four PIM, three blocked shots and two hits over four appearances this season.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Scores early in overtime loss

Howden scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks.

Howden had to play a season-high 16:36 in this contest, as he filled in at center for William Karlsson (lower body), who left after the first period. The 27-year-old Howden has scored three goals over 10 appearances this season, and he's added 10 shots on net, 18 hits and a minus-5 rating. He's nowhere near the pace that saw him earn 23 goals and 40 points in 80 regular-season outings last year, so most fantasy managers can likely find a better depth forward than Howden on the waiver wire.
