  • Matt Duchene C | DAL

Stars' Matt Duchene: Game-time decision Saturday

Duchene (upper-body) will be a game-time decision versus St. Louis on Saturday, per Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars.

Duchene will attempt to return to the lineup after missing Thursday's contest against Vancouver. Duchene had a terrific 2024-25 campaign, tallying 30 goals and 52 assists in 82 regular-season games. He has a goal and an assist in three appearances this year.

  • Dylan Larkin C | DET

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Secures overtime win

Larkin scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Lightning.

Larkin extended his season-opening point streak to five games when he set up Axel Sandin-Pellikka's goal in the first period. In overtime, Larkin picked up a second point for the second game in a row, scoring the game-winner at 3:36 of the extra session. The 29-year-old center is up to three goals, seven points, 18 shots on net and a plus-6 rating, playing a leading role as Detroit has opened the season 4-1-0.

  • Kirby Dach C | MON

Canadiens' Kirby Dach: Not playing Saturday

Dach (lower body) won't play Saturday against the Rangers.

Dach has one goal, one assist and six shots on goal through five games this season. He is day-to-day, so there's a possibility of returning as early as Tuesday against the Sabres. Joe Veleno will replace Dach in Saturday's lineup versus the Rangers.

  • Owen Beck C | MON

Canadiens' Owen Beck: Summoned from AHL

Beck was recalled from AHL Laval on Saturday.

Beck will join the Canadiens on an emergency basis ahead of Saturday's matchup against the Rangers because of injuries to Kirby Dach (lower body) and Patrik Laine (lower body). The 21-year-old Beck has one goal and one assist through three minor-league outings this campaign.

  • Kraken's Frederick Gaudreau: Out 4-6 weeks

Gaudreau will be out of action four to six weeks with an upper-body injury.

Gaudreau was placed on injured reserve by Seattle on Friday after suffering the injury against the Senators on Thursday. John Hayden was brought up in a corresponding move and could replace Gaudreau in the lineup if Berkly Catton doesn't receive a chance to make his NHL debut.

  • James Hagens C | BOS

Bruins' James Hagens: Pots pair for BC in win

Hagens scored two goals on seven shots in Boston College's 5-1 win over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Friday.

Hagens is off to a decent start for the Eagles this season, racking up five points in four games. The 18-year-old center is a Bruins prospect after being selected seventh overall in 2025. This is his sophomore year, and he was a point-per-game player with 11 goals and 26 helpers in 37 outings in 2024-25.

  • Stars' Brandon Gorzynski: Racks up three points

Gorzynski scored twice on six shots and added an assist in WHL Calgary's 7-6 overtime loss to Lethbridge on Friday.

Gorzynski is up to eight points in six WHL outings this season. He was a fourth-round pick of the Stars back in June and is looking to build on a 42-point effort in 68 regular-season games last year. The early gains on offense are encouraging, though it remains to be seen if he'll eventually be able to translate his progress to the professional ranks.

  • Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Goal, assist in loss

Celebrini scored a power-play goal on three shots, dished an assist, logged two hits and added two PIM in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Mammoth.

Celebrini put in a good individual effort, though the Sharks' overall play remains lacking. The 19-year-old has five points through four contests so far, including a pair of power-play points. He's added five shots on net and a minus-1 rating. Celebrini is talented enough to push for a point-per-game pace in his second NHL campaign while playing in a massive role on the Sharks' top line.

  • Mammoth's Nick Schmaltz: Hat trick, assist in win

Schmaltz scored three goals on six shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Friday's 6-3 win over the Sharks.

Schmaltz had two goals, including one on the power play, in the first period before scoring again in the third to complete his hat trick. He also assisted on a Clayton Keller goal. This was a breakout game for Schmaltz, who is up to three goals, four assists, 22 shots on net and a plus-3 rating across five outings. As long as he stays on the top line and first power-play unit, he should remain highly productive for the Mammoth.

  • Ryan Donato C | CHI

Blackhawks' Ryan Donato: Opens scoring on power play

Donato scored a power-play goal on three shots and added two PIM in Friday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Canucks.

Donato's putting his slow start to the season behind him -- he's earned two goals and an assist over the last three games. His tally Friday was his first power-play point of the campaign. The 29-year-old has added 15 shots on net, six hits, four PIM and a plus-1 rating over six appearances. Donato's got some scoring potential, but matching last year's 31-goal, 62-point effort will be a tall task.
