  • Ryan Suzuki C | CAR

Hurricanes' Ryan Suzuki: On waivers Tuesday

Suzuki was designated for waivers by Carolina on Tuesday.

Suzuki made his NHL debut last year, recording two hits and a minus-1 rating in two regular-season games with the Hurricanes. While the 24-year-old center figures to start the year in the minors, assuming he clears, he should be on the short list of potential call-ups throughout the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Tyson Jost C | NSH

Hurricanes' Tyson Jost: Lands on waivers

Jost was placed on waivers by Carolina on Tuesday.

Jost has 495 games of NHL experience in his career, so it's certainly possible that a team puts in a waiver claim for the 27-year-old center. In 39 regular-season games for the Canes last year, the Alberta native notched four goals, five assists and 44 shots while averaging 10:22 of ice time. If Jost clears, he figures to be reassigned to AHL Chicago for the start of the season.

  • Ivan Ryabkin C | CAR

Hurricanes' Ivan Ryabkin: Sent down to minors

Ryabkin (lower body) was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Tuesday.

Ryabkin's demotion would seem to be an indication that the young center has recovered from his lower-body injury. With Ryabkin set to make the jump to the professional ranks after suiting up for USHL Muskegon last year, he will probably need some time to fully develop in the minors before earning a potential call-up to the NHL.

  • Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Remains out Tuesday

Rodrigues (undisclosed) will not play versus Tampa Bay on Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Rodrigues will be out of action for his second consecutive contest due to his undislocated injury. The 32-year-old center could find himself moving into a top-six role following Aleksander Barkov's (knee) long-term injury, though Rodrigues will need to edge out Anton Lundell for that spot. Even in a third-line role, Rodrigues should be capable of putting up 30-plus points for the fifth straight year.

  • Ivan Ryabkin C | CAR

Hurricanes' Ivan Ryabkin: Departs Monday's game

Ryabkin sustained an apparent lower-body injury in Monday's preseason game against the Panthers and did not return, according to Walt Ruff and Peter Dewar of the Hurricanes' official site.

There was no update on Ryabkin's status postgame. The Hurricanes close out their preseason schedule Saturday in Nashville, so more information on Ryabkin's health should be known by then. The 18-year-old was a second-round selection (No. 62 overall) in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

  • Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev: Making progress in recovery

Dorofeyev (lower body) will not play in Tuesday's exhibition matchup versus the Avalanche, per Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy relayed Monday that Dorofeyev is progressing in his recovery from a lower-body injury, but he isn't sure if the left-shot winger will draw into the lineup Wednesday against the Avalanche or Friday versus the Sharks. The Golden Knights open the regular season against the Kings on Oct. 8.

  • Sam Carrick C | BUF

Rangers' Sam Carrick: Contending with LBI

Carrick is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not play in Monday's preseason game versus the Islanders, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

Carrick is reportedly being held out of the lineup against the Islanders for precautionary reasons, per Baugh. The right-shot center skated Monday morning, so it doesn't appear as if Carrick is in danger of being sidelined for an extended period of time. His next chance to draw into the lineup in preseason play will be Thursday against the Devils.

  • Jack McBain C | UTA

Mammoth's Jack McBain: Still out against Kings

McBain (undisclosed) won't be ready to face Los Angeles on Tuesday, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.

While McBain's injury is not expected to be a long-term issue, he could also miss out on Thursday's game versus the Kings as he works his way back to full fitness. The 25-year-old center has reached the 25-point threshold in each of his three full NHL campaigns, so fantasy managers should be fairly safe in assuming he'll hit that mark again in 2025-26.

  • Logan Cooley C | UTA

Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Ruled out for Tuesday's game

Cooley (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Tuesday's preseason game against the Kings, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.

Cooley has been dealing with an undisclosed injury for just over a week, and head coach Andre Tourigny said Monday that the 21-year-old will still be out for "quite a few days." Tourigny specified that Cooley isn't expected to have a long-term absence. However, Cooley's status for the Mammoth's Opening Night matchup in Colorado on Oct. 9 appears to be in question.

  • Predators' Jake Lucchini: Put on waivers

Lucchini was shifted to waivers Monday, according to PuckPedia.

Lucchini had 21 goals and 45 points in 70 games for AHL Milwaukee during the 2024-25 campaign before adding one tally and four assists in 10 playoff outings. He also registered two shots on goal and two hits in three NHL regular-season appearances with the Predators. If he clears waivers, he could be in the minors for the majority of the year.
