Morgan Frost C | CGY
Flames' Morgan Frost: Accepts two-year contract
Frost signed a two-year, $8.75 million contract with the Flames on Wednesday, PuckPedia reports.
Frost was a restricted free agent this summer after completing his two-year, $4.2 million deal. He had 14 goals and 37 points across 81 appearances between Philadelphia and Calgary in 2024-25. That was his third straight campaign with over 35 points. Frost should continue to serve in a middle-six capacity and receive some power-play ice time this coming season.

Gustav Nyquist RW | WPG
Jets' Gustav Nyquist: Agrees to terms with Winnipeg
Nyquist signed a one-year, $3.25 million contract with the Jets on Wednesday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Nyquist has made at least 70 regular-season appearances in nine of the last 10 seasons, most recently recording 11 goals, 17 assists, 44 hits, 30 blocked shots and 16 PIM while averaging 16:51 of ice time over 79 regular-season outings between Nashville and Minnesota last year. He took a step back after logging a career-high 75 points with the Predators the year before, and he'll attempt to bounce back in the 2025-26 season as part of an offense that was tied for third in the NHL with 3.35 goals per game last year.

Blues' Pius Suter: Inks pact with St. Louis
Suter signed a two-year, $8.25 million contract with the Blues on Wednesday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.
Suter had a career-best year last season, racking up 25 goals, 21 assists, 59 hits, 49 blocked shots and 18 PIM while averaging 17:21 of ice time. He should have an opportunity to at least carve out a middle-six role on a more efficient offense this season.

Mason Appleton C | DET
Red Wings' Mason Appleton: Signs two-year contract
Appleton signed a two-year, $5.8 million contract with the Red Wings on Wednesday, according to PuckPedia.
Appleton had 10 goals, 22 points, 22 PIM, 107 shots, 76 hits and 29 blocks across 71 regular-season appearances with the Jets in 2024-25. The 29-year-old is likely to serve primarily on Detroit's third line.

Glass was a restricted free agent. He had six goals, 22 points, 16 PIM, 91 shots, 53 hits and 38 blocks in 65 regular-season appearances between Pittsburgh and New Jersey in 2024-25. The 26-year-old is projected to begin the upcoming season in a bottom-six role.

Tyson Jost C | NSH
Hurricanes' Tyson Jost: Lands one-year deal
Jost signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes on Wednesday.
Jost had four goals, nine points, 33 PIM and 46 hits in 39 regular-season appearances with Carolina. The 27-year-old isn't a lock to make Carolina's Opening Night roster, but he should be in the mix to earn a bottom-six spot during training camp.

Thomas Bordeleau C | NJ
Devils' Thomas Bordeleau: Heading to New Jersey
Bordeleau (concussion) was traded to the Devils from the Sharks on Wednesday in exchange for Shane Bowers.
Bordeleau made just one NHL appearance for the Sharks during the 2024-25 regular season, and he missed the last two games of the year due to a concussion. It seems likely that he'll be ready for the start of training camp this fall, and he'll get a change of scenery after spending the last four seasons in San Jose. The 23-year-old will likely be forced to spend plenty of time in the minors next season.

Shane Bowers C | SJ
Sharks' Shane Bowers: Heading west in trade
Bowers was acquired by San Jose from New Jersey on Wednesday in exchange for Thomas Bordeleau.
Bowers had three goals and 17 points in 65 regular-season appearances with AHL Utica in 2024-25. Although the 25-year-old was selected with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, Bowers has no points in 13 career NHL games. He's expected to start this coming season in the minors.

John Beecher C | CGY
Bruins' John Beecher: On the ice Wednesday
Beecher (undisclosed) was skating with other veterans ahead of Bruins' development camp Wednesday, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports.
Beecher, with his new contract in hand, has resumed skating following an April surgery to address a minor, undisclosed injury. In his 78 regular-season games last year, the 24-year-old center notched three goals and eight helpers. Looking ahead to 2025-26, Beecher figures to remain in a bottom-six role and will be hard-pressed to put up more than 20 points.
