  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Playing Wednesday

McDavid (rest) will suit up for the regular-season finale against the Sharks on Wednesday, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.

McDavid has played in just three of the Oilers' last 12 games but managed to garner nine helpers in that trio of appearances. The world-class center's absence Monday was deemed precautionary, so it shouldn't be a surprise to see him returning for the final game of the regular season. With just one more point, McDavid can reach the 100-point threshold for the eighth time in his 10-year NHL career.

  • Sharks' Zack Ostapchuk: Unavailable for season finale

Ostapchuk (lower body) won't play in the Sharks' season finale against Edmonton on Wednesday, per Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.

Ostapchuk will finish the NHL campaign with a goal, four points, 45 PIM and 110 hits in 56 outings between Ottawa and San Jose. If he recovers in time, he might report to AHL San Jose to participate in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

  • Sharks' Thomas Bordeleau: Remains day-to-day

Bordeleau (undisclosed) is still day-to-day and won't be an option versus Edmonton on Wednesday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Bordeleau will miss the Sharks' regular-season finale but may still be available when AHL San Jose kicks off the Calder Cup Playoffs. For the Barracuda this year, the 23-year-old center notched 14 goals and 24 helpers in 59 appearances. A strong showing in the postseason could help Bordeleau's case to make the Opening Night roster next year.

  • Ross Colton C | COL

Avalanche's Ross Colton: Working with No. 2 power-play unit

Colton (undisclosed) was back at practice Wednesday, including joining the No. 2 power-play unit, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports.

Colton should be back from a four-game absence due to his undisclosed injury, linking up with both the second power-play unit and the Avs' third line. The 28-year-old winger has just one point in his last seven outings, so fantasy managers may want to look at other options for their postseason pools.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Back at practice ahead of Game 1

MacKinnon (undisclosed) was back on the first line and No. 1 power-play unit ahead of Game 1 versus St. Louis, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports Wednesday.

MacKinnon missed three games with an undisclosed injury that was deemed precautionary and has retaken all of his usual spots in the lineup. Prior to sitting out, the 29-year-old center was riding an eight-game point streak during which he compiled four goals and seven assists, including four power-play points. He'll look to re-establish that momentum following his short absence when the playoffs start up for Colorado on Saturday or Sunday.

  • Oliver Moore C | CHI

Blackhawks' Oliver Moore: Provides assist Tuesday

Moore notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Senators.

Moore picked up four helpers, 10 shots on net, six hits, four PIM and a minus-2 rating over his first nine NHL appearances. The 20-year-old winger will be in contention for a roster spot in training camp this fall. Moore has some scoring potential, but it's possible he'll need a little development time at AHL Rockford in 2025-26.

  • Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Gets on scoresheet with assist

Sundqvist notched a power-play assist and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 6-1 win over Utah.

Sundqvist ended the regular season on a 13-game goal drought, earning four assists, eight shots on net, nine hits and 11 blocked shots in that span. The 31-year-old has emerged as part of the power-play puzzle for the Blues, and that gives him a chance to be among the team's more effective bottom-six forwards. He's produced 20 points (seven on the power play), 60 shots on net, 78 hits, 53 blocked shots, 32 PIM and a minus-6 rating over 67 appearances, production nearly identical to his 2023-24 output.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Resting in penultimate game

Jarvis (rest) will not play Wednesday against the Canadiens.

With the Hurricanes locked into the second spot in the Metropolitan Division, Jarvis is one of several Hurricanes players who will take the regular season's penultimate game off ahead of the beginning of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Hurricanes play the second part of the back-to-back Thursday, so fantasy managers should be watching carefully for Carolina's lineup for the finale as well. If this is it for Jarvis, he finishes his regular season matching his career high of 67 points on 32 goals and 35 assists.

  • Jordan Staal C | CAR

Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Among scratches against Habs

Staal will be rested versus Montreal on Wednesday.

Staal joins six other players who will be getting the night off Wednesday in order to get them ready ahead of the postseason. Since the Hurricanes will still be in action versus Ottawa on Thursday, the team will likely shuffle the lines up again, which means Staal could still be in action for that contest. With 36 points this year, Staal reached the 30-point threshold for the fifth straight year and eighth time in the last 10 seasons.

  • Sean Monahan C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Extends point streak to five games

Monahan recorded two assists, including one on the power play, and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Flyers.

Monahan has two goals and five assists during his five-game point streak. The 30-year-old center hasn't missed a beat since returning from a long-term wrist injury -- he's collected 15 points over 12 outings since his return. Overall, Monahan has 19 goals, 37 helpers, 128 shots on net and a plus-18 rating through 53 appearances.
