  • Kent Johnson C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Stays hot with power-play goal

Johnson scored a power-play goal on three shots in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Flyers.

Johnson has two goals and five assists during his five-game point streak. The Blue Jackets have dug deep to stay in the playoff race this long, but their fate is out of their hands. Johnson is at 24 goals, 57 points, 120 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 67 contests in an impressive breakout campaign that should allow him to be a top-six player in Columbus for a long time.

  • Bruins' Marat Khusnutdinov: Tallies in Tuesday's overtime loss

Khusnutdinov scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Devils.

Khusnutdinov earned a goal and an assist over the last two games of the season. The Bruins sent five players to AHL Providence on Wednesday, but Khusnutdinov was not among them, even though he is eligible for the AHL playoffs. The 22-year-old split 2024-25 between Boston and Minnesota, racking up five goals, seven assists, 41 shots on net, 55 hits, 47 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-11 rating across 75 appearances.

  • Bruins' Morgan Geekie: Scores in season finale

Geekie scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Devils.

Geekie had an incredible finish to 2024-25 with nine goals and 10 assists over his last 11 games. The 26-year-old totaled 33 goals, 24 assists, 150 shots on net, 110 hits and a plus-3 rating in 77 appearances. A top-line role alongside David Pastrnak was helpful, but Geekie is risky for fantasy managers to bank on in 2025-26, as his shooting percentage is virtually guaranteed to drop from this year's 22.0 percent mark.

  • Jared McCann C | SEA

Kraken's Jared McCann: Slated to undergo surgery

McCann announced Wednesday that he'll undergo surgery Monday to address an undisclosed issue that he dealt with throughout the season, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

Although McCann appeared in all 82 games for the Kraken this season, he was apparently dealing with an undisclosed injury and will require approximately six weeks to recover during the offseason. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see him back in action once training camp begins ahead of the 2025-26 season. The 28-year-old recorded 22 goals, 39 assists, 50 blocked shots, 47 hits and 18 PIM while averaging 17:13 of ice time this year.

  • Devils' Marc McLaughlin: First point with new team

McLaughlin logged an assist and three hits in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Bruins.

McLaughlin won a faceoff, and Simon Nemec's shot was sharp to give the Devils a 3-2 lead in the second period. This was McLaughlin's Devils debut after he was acquired from the Bruins at the trade deadline. The 25-year-old has a total of three points, 13 shots on net and 26 hits across 13 NHL appearances this season. He is unlikely to see significant usage in the playoffs -- if he makes the lineup at all, it'll be in a fourth-line role.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Supplies two power-play assists

Hischier logged two power-play assists and went minus-3 in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Bruins.

Hischier has gone four games without a goal but still has three assists in that span. This was his fifth multi-point effort over his last 12 outings, a span in which he has seven goals and nine assists. Overall, the first-line center is at 35 goals, 34 helpers, 187 shots on net, 60 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating over 75 appearances. If Hischier stays in the lineup for Wednesday's season finale versus the Red Wings, he'll have a chance to reach the 70-point mark for the second time in his eight-year career.

  • Tyler Seguin C | DAL

Stars' Tyler Seguin: Taken off IR

Seguin (hip) was activated off long-term injured reserve ahead of Wednesday's matchup with Nashville, per the NHL media site.

Seguin was technically classified as a game-time decision by head coach Pete DeBoer, but this move clears the way for the veteran forward to suit up for the first time since Dec. 1 versus Winnipeg. Even with his return to the lineup, Seguin may have to settle for a bottom-six role given his lengthy injury absence.

  • Bruins' Fraser Minten: Sent to Providence

Minten was returned to AHL Providence on Wednesday, according to Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal.

Boston's season is over, so that's why Minten is heading to the minors. The 20-year-old Minten has nine goals and 20 points across 36 AHL outings between the Marlies and Providence this season. He also recorded three goals and five points in 21 NHL outings between the Maple Leafs and Boston in 2024-25.

  • Bruins' Vinni Lettieri: Returns to AHL

Lettieri was reassigned to AHL Providence on Wednesday, per Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal.

Lettieri had three goals and five points over 26 appearances with Boston in 2024-25. Boston's campaign is done, so that's why he's returning to Providence. Lettieri has contributed 20 goals and 48 points across 46 outings with the minor-league squad this year.

  • Bruins' John Farinacci: Headed back to minors

Farinacci was reassigned to AHL Providence on Wednesday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.

With the Bruins' season over, the team sent five players to the minors Wednesday, including the 24-year-old Farinacci. During his brief stint in the NHL, the New Jersey native appeared in one game, registering one goal on one shot while logging 10:58 of ice time. Heading into next season, Farinacci will be a restricted free agent and will need a new contract this summer.
