  • Gustav Nyquist RW | WPG

Predators' Gustav Nyquist: Pockets assist in win

Nyquist managed an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Jets.

Ryan O'Reilly won a faceoff and Nyquist got the puck to Filip Forsberg for a quick goal at 4:26 of the first period. The helper ended a nine-game point drought for Nyquist, who was moved up to the top line at even strength and led the Predators' forwards with 21:32 of ice time Thursday. His offense has largely been unreliable in 2024-25, and he adds little else statistically. The veteran winger is at 21 points, 71 shots on net and a minus-20 rating across 57 outings this season.

  • Predators' Ryan O'Reilly: Records helper in win

O'Reilly provided an assist, five shots on goal and three blocked shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Jets.

O'Reilly's goal drought is up to 10 games, but he was able to pick up his seventh assist in that span when he helped out on a Filip Forsberg tally. This was O'Reilly's first helper since the NHL resumed play after the 4 Nations Face-Off, and it came amid a lineup shuffle that reunited O'Reilly, Forsberg and Gustav Nyquist on the Predators' top line. For the season, O'Reilly has 35 points, 105 shots on net, 52 blocked shots and a minus-19 rating over 55 appearances. His scoring is down, but he remains a key two-way player in a top-six role.

  • Tommy Novak C | PIT

Predators' Thomas Novak: Tallies power-play goal

Novak scored a power-play goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Jets.

Novak's goal at 15:29 of the first period stood as the game-winner. It was his first goal in four contests since the NHL resumed after the 4 Nations Face-Off -- prior to the break, the 27-year-old had six goals and four assists over a 10-game span. For the season, he's up to 12 goals, 20 points, 85 shots on net, 20 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 49 appearances. Novak is on pace for his worst full NHL campaign, but he's done enough to maintain a middle-six role.

  • Bruins' Matthew Poitras: Leaves Thursday's game

Poitras (lower body) is unlikely to return to Thursday's game versus the Islanders.

Poitras was injured in the second period, and while he wasn't fully ruled out, the Bruins' update doesn't bode well for him getting back on the ice Thursday. The 20-year-old should be considered day-to-day ahead of Saturday's game versus the Penguins, which is the first half of a back-to-back set.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Sustains injury Thursday

Sillinger (upper body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Red Wings.

Sillinger was hurt in the first period of the contest. He should be considered day-to-day until the Blue Jackets provide another update. Sillinger is questionable to play in Saturday's Stadium Series game, which is a rematch against the Red Wings.

  • Predators' Mark Jankowski: Unavailable Thursday

Jankowski (upper body) is expected to miss Thursday's clash against Winnipeg, according to Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean.

It will be Jankowski's second straight game on the shelf. He has three goals and eight points in 39 appearances in 2024-25. Jankowski's next opportunity to return will come Saturday against the Islanders.

  • Ben Meyers C | SEA

Kraken's Ben Meyers: Rises to NHL

Meyers was promoted from AHL Coachella Valley on Thursday.

Meyers has been in the NHL a few times this season, but he has yet to record a point over six contests with the big club. He'll take the place of Mitchell Stephens, who was sent to the Firebirds on Wednesday after clearing waivers Feb. 10.

  • Penguins' Emil Bemstrom: Recalled by Pittsburgh

Bemstrom was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.

Bemstrom will rejoin the NHL club after spending less than a week in the minors, and he'll provide additional depth after Michael Bunting (abdomen) was placed on injured reserve. Bemstrom has made just two appearances for Pittsburgh this year, and he's failed to record a point while averaging 12:14 of ice time.

  • Robby Fabbri C | MIN

Ducks' Robby Fabbri: Added to injured reserve

Fabbri was put on injured reserve Thursday due to an upper-body injury.

Fabbri was already regarded as doubtful for Thursday's clash against Vancouver, but this move makes him ineligible to play in that game. He sustained the injury during Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Buffalo. Fabbri has eight goals, 16 points and 58 hits over 44 appearances in 2024-25. Sam Colangelo, who was recalled from AHL San Diego in a corresponding move, will likely draw into the lineup due to Fabbri's absence.

  • Jack Drury C | COL

Avalanche's Jack Drury: Three shots on goal in win

Drury recorded three shots on goal in 13:00 of ice time in Wednesday's 5-1 victory over the Devils.

Drury is in the midst of an eight-game pointless streak, but he has now recorded seven shots on goal in the past three games. Despite the recent offensive struggles, an area that the former Hurricane has excelled in all season is in the faceoff circle. After going 9-4 on Wednesday, the 25-year old has won 57 percent of his faceoffs, the ninth-best win rate in the NHL among those with at least 500 draws.
