Flames' Joel Hanley: Out for Saturday's clash

Hanley (illness) will miss Saturday's home game against the Hurricanes due to an illness, per Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Hanley was reported to be under the weather Saturday, meaning he'll miss his first game since Nov. 18. The 34-year-old blueliner has seven assists, 34 shots on goal, 38 hits and 76 blocked shots across 58 games this season. In his absence, the newly acquired Olli Maatta is set to make his debut for Calgary and should occupy Hanley's spot on the depth chart. Seeler was also unavailable for Thursday's 3-0 loss to Utah. He has two goals, eight points, 27 PIM, 95 hits and 112 blocks in 60 appearances with the Flyers in 2025-26. Noah Juulsen is set to remain in the lineup Saturday due to Seeler's continued absence.

  • Sabres' Zach Metsa: Up from AHL

Metsa was recalled from AHL Rochester on Friday.

Metsa was briefly sent to the minors to maintain his eligibility for the AHL playoffs. He has two goals and four points in 31 outings with Buffalo in 2025-26.

  • John Carlson D | ANA

Ducks' John Carlson: Won't play Sunday

Carlson (lower body) will miss Sunday's game against St. Louis, per Derek Lee of The Hockey News.

Carlson participated in his first practice with Anaheim on Saturday after being acquired from Washington on Friday. He sat out four games with the Capitals before the trade because of the injury, and he also missed Anaheim's game against Montreal on Friday. He has 10 goals and 46 points over 55 outings in 2025-26. When Carlson is ready to make his Ducks debut, he will probably serve in a top-four capacity and as a member of the first power-play unit. His next opportunity to return will come Tuesday in Winnipeg.

  • Senators' Nikolas Matinpalo: Not playing Saturday

Matinpalo (undisclosed) isn't expected to play against Seattle on Saturday

Matinpalo has been practicing, but he will miss his fifth straight game. He had been serving as a healthy scratch before the Olympics, so he may not return to the lineup once he is healthy. • Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Collects two points Friday

Heiskanen scored a power-play goal on two shots and added an assist in Friday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Avalanche.

Heiskanen has enjoyed a bounce-back campaign with eight goals, 52 points (21 on the power play), 110 blocked shots and a plus-13 rating through 60 appearances this season.

Lindgren has two goals, nine points, 54 PIM, 35 hits and 96 blocks in 58 appearances in 2025-26. Kraken's Adam Larsson: Dealing with illness

Larsson (illness) will be a game-time decision against Ottawa on Saturday, per Alison Lukan of the Kraken Hockey Network.
