  • Mammoth's Mikhail Sergachev: Three points in rout of Isles

Sergachev scored a power-play goal and added two assists, one with the man advantage, in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Islanders.

The 27-year-old blueliner helped set up Dylan Guenther for the game's opening goal early in the second period, then produced his other two points early in the third as the Mammoth blew the game open. Sergachev shook off a late November slump and got locked in during the month of December, and over his last 15 games he's delivered three goals and 13 points, including two goals and three assists on the power play.

  • Canadiens' Mike Matheson: Late scratch Thursday

Matheson will miss Thursday's game against Carolina because of an upper-body injury.

Matheson has four goals, 18 points, 18 PIM, 23 hits and 83 blocks in 37 appearances in 2025-26. Jayden Struble was already expected to draw into the lineup after being a healthy scratch Tuesday. However, Adam Engstrom was originally projected to head to the press box to accommodate Struble's inclusion, but Engstrom will instead remain in the lineup due to Matheson's absence.

  • Golden Knights' Jaycob Megna: Promoted from minors

Megna was summoned from AHL Henderson on Thursday.

Megna has two goals and six points in 23 outings with Henderson this season. He might draw into Vegas' lineup Friday in St. Louis if Brayden McNabb (upper body) isn't able to play.

  • Bowen Byram D | BUF

Sabres' Bowen Byram: One of each Wednesday

Byram scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, logged three hits and went plus-3 in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Stars.

Byram has three goals and four assists over his last five outings. The defenseman's goal late in the second period stood as the game-winner, and he also helped out on a Tage Thompson tally in the third. Byram is up to 20 points, 51 shots on net, 48 blocked shots, 26 hits and a plus-1 rating over 39 contests this season. He's never reached the 40-point mark in any of his first five campaigns, but he's on pace to do just that in 2025-26.

  • Dysin Mayo D | CLB

Blue Jackets' Dysin Mayo: Collects first point of season

Mayo notched an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Devils.

Mayo picked up a helper in his second NHL outing of the season. It was his first point since he had 12 in 67 games for the Coyotes in 2021-22. The 29-year-old defenseman is filling in as an emergency depth option on the Blue Jackets' blue line, but he'll likely head back to AHL Cleveland once Zach Werenski (lower body) or Erik Gudbranson (hip) can come off injured reserve.

  • Luke Hughes D | NJ

Devils' Luke Hughes: Scores, assists in win

Hughes scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Hughes came through when the Devils needed him the most. Trailing by two goals in the third period, Hughes set up Nico Hischier's power-play goal and later netted the game-winning goal with a snap shot at the 4:45 mark of the final frame. This two-point performance snapped a four-game pointless skid for the defenseman, who has four goals and 21 points in 40 games this season.

  • Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Slated to miss Thursday's game

Gostisbehere (groin) didn't participate in practice, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site, which indicates that he's not ready to return Thursday versus Montreal.

Gostisbehere is slated to miss his third straight game. He has four goals and 29 points in 28 appearances in 2025-26. Mike Reilly and Joel Nystrom are likely to continue to play regularly while Shayne Gostisbehere (groin) and Jaccob Slavin (upper body) are absent.

  • Wild's Zach Bogosian: Nabs helper Wednesday

Bogosian logged an assist and two PIM in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Sharks.

Bogosian's helper was his first point in four games since he missed four contests due to a lower-body injury. The 35-year-old defenseman is up to three points, 18 shots on net, 19 hits, 20 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating over 21 appearances this season. Bogosian looks to be firmly in a third-pairing role, but he offers minimal upside in fantasy with limited offense.

  • Janis Moser D | TB

Lightning's J.J. Moser: Buries first goal since extension

Moser scored a goal, added two hits and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Ducks.

This was Moser's first point in three games since he signed an eight-year, $54 million contract extension to stay with the Lightning long-term. He's proven his value this year, mostly in a defensive capacity, though he six points over his last nine outings to help pick up the slack in the absence of Victor Hedman (elbow). Moser is now at four goals, 13 points, 52 shots on net, 31 hits, 48 blocked shots and a plus-27 rating through 37 appearances this season.

  • Ben Hutton D | LV

Golden Knights' Ben Hutton: Sets career high in goals

Hutton scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Predators.

The goal was Hutton's fourth over 13 games in December, and it's career-best sixth tally of the season. The 32-year-old's 11 points are his most in the last four campaigns. He's gotten steady playing time with 31 appearances so far as Vegas has often had at least one blueliner unavailable. Hutton has added 48 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in a bottom-four role.
