Jake Sanderson D | OTT
Senators' Jake Sanderson: Scores lone goal in loss
Sanderson scored a goal in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Sanderson ended a five-game slump with the tally. The 23-year-old defenseman had not had a drought longer than four contests this season prior to his most recent slump. He's now at eight goals, 27 points, 80 shots on net, 66 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 38 appearances. He's on track for a career-high in goals, but his numbers are down overall from last year's 57-point effort over 80 regular-season outings.

Denton Mateychuk D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Lights lamp in win
Mateychuk scored a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-1 win over the Senators.
Mateychuk extended his point streak to four games (one goal, four assists). The goal was his first since Dec. 1 versus the Devils. The 21-year-old blueliner continues to grow into a top-four role, and he's seen increased power-play time since Zach Werenski (lower body) exited the lineup. Mateychuk is at seven goals, 17 points, 43 shots on net, 57 blocked shots and 19 hits through 37 appearances in his first full NHL campaign.

Adam Fox D | NYR
Rangers' Adam Fox: Might return Wednesday
Fox (upper body) is expected to be a game-time decision for Wednesday's road divisional matchup against the Capitals, according to Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Fox hasn't suited up since Nov. 29 against Tampa Bay and has been on long-term injured reserve due to his upper-body injury. However, the right-shot blueliner skated on the No. 1 pairing and quarterbacked the top power-play unit during Tuesday's practice, which should bode well for his availability Wednesday. Scott Morrow is expected to serve as a healthy scratch once Fox is back in the lineup.

Vladislav Gavrikov D | NYR
Rangers' Vladislav Gavrikov: Earns first career power-play point
Gavrikov scored a power-play goal on three shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
This was Gavrikov's first power-play point in his career. He has not typically been a big factor with the man advantage, but he's averaging 1:38 per game on the power play over his last 10 contests. That usage will dry up once Adam Fox (upper body) is ready to return, but Gavrikov's strong play this year, especially on offense, has afforded him more opportunities. He's at a career-best seven goals with eight helpers, 56 shots on net, 63 blocked shots, 20 hits, 20 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 41 appearances.

K'Andre Miller D | CAR
Hurricanes' K'Andre Miller: Pockets helper after short absence
Miller logged an assist in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers.
Miller missed one game due to a lower-body injury, but he was ultimately able to suit up and log 22:51 of ice time. The 25-year-old has been steady for the Hurricanes in a top-four role as the team has often been missing at least one blueliner this year. Miller is at 14 points, 52 shots on net, 43 hits, 33 blocked shots and 30 PIM across 30 appearances, offering some all-around appeal in fantasy.

Erik Karlsson D | PIT
Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Moves past illness
Karlsson (illness) is available for Tuesday's home game against the Hurricanes, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Karlsson didn't practice Monday due to an illness, but he'll avoid missing his first game of the season Tuesday. The right-shot blueliner should assume his usual duties on the No. 1 pairing while seeing time with the man advantage against Carolina.
-
Cale Makar D | COL
Avalanche's Cale Makar: Ends mini slump with goal
Makar scored a goal and took four shots in Monday's 5-2 win over the Kings.
Makar closed out the scoring for the Avs with his 12th goal of the season, a snap shot that went past Anton Forsberg at the 19:15 mark of the third period. Makar also snapped a brief two-game stretch with no points -- it was the first time this season that he had gone back-to-back games without cracking the scoresheet. That's the best example of the kind of value Makar brings to the table as a blueliner, as he remains an elite fantasy contributor who plays a key role in one of the best teams in the NHL.
-
Christopher Tanev D | TOR
Maple Leafs' Chris Tanev: Not playing Tuesday
Tanev (lower body) isn't available for Tuesday's home matchup versus New Jersey.
Tanev returned to the lineup Dec. 23 following a long layoff, and he'll now miss at least one more game. Simon Benoit will reenter the lineup Tuesday as a result of Tanev's absence. Toronto's next game is at home Thursday versus Winnipeg.

Andrew Peeke D | BOS
Bruins' Andrew Peeke: Breaks deadlock Monday
Peeke scored a goal in Monday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Flames.
Peeke broke the deadlock for the Bruins with a deflection late in the first period, but that would be all the offense Boston would muster throughout the game. The marker was Peeke's fourth goal of the campaign, but the 27-year-old plays on the third pairing and doesn't see time on the power play, so his fantasy upside in standard formats is very low. That said, he's notched all four of his goals in December, so he's definitely trending in the right direction.

Damon Severson D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Damon Severson: Two points including GWG
Severson scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Monday's 4-1 victory over Ottawa.
The veteran blueliner blasted a one-timer past Leevi Merilainen early in the second period for his first GWG of the season. Severson has gotten onto the scoresheet in four straight games as he ends 2025 on a high note, producing a goal and six points during that hot streak with eight shots on net, six blocked shots, six PIM, three hits and a plus-3 rating.
