Luke Hughes D | NJ
Devils' Luke Hughes: Helper in three straight
Hughes had an assist and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blues.
Hughes picked up a secondary helper on Nico Hischier's power-play tally midway through the second period. With the apple, Hughes raised his totals to 13 assists, 14 points, 48 shots on goal and 21 blocks through 23 games this season. He also extended his point streak to three games, and he has seven points in his last eight contests. The 22-year-old blueliner has taken on a sizable amount of extra ice time this season and is tracking for a career year. While Dougie Hamilton currently holds a spot on the team's top power-play unit, Hughes could end up back in that role by the end of the season if he continues to produce. Hughes might challenge 50 points for the first time in his NHL career in 2025-26.

Charle-Edward D'Astous D | TB
Lightning's Charle-Edouard D'Astous: Buries goal in win
D'Astous scored a goal in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Flames.
D'Astous' tally at 1:26 of the first period stood as the game-winner. The 27-year-old blueliner has emerged as a reliable player in his own zone as well as a power-play option on the second unit in his first NHL campaign. For the year, he has two goals, seven points, 13 shots on net, 15 PIM, 20 hits, 17 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating in 16 appearances. He's earned two of his points over the last three games.

William Lagesson D | DET
Red Wings' William Lagesson: Racks up three helpers
Lagesson logged three assists in AHL Grand Rapids' 6-3 win over Texas on Wednesday.
Lagesson hasn't done much this season, but this was a rare good outing for him. The defenseman has seven points and a plus-15 rating over 12 contests, though that's not all that impressive considering how strong the Griffins' offense has been so far. Lagesson isn't imminently pushing for a call-up, but he could be a replacement if Erik Gustafsson isn't needed on the NHL roster.

Simon Nemec D | NJ
Devils' Simon Nemec: Pots game-winning goal in OT
Nemec scored the game-winning goal, placed two shots on net and dished out two hits in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime victory over St. Louis.
Nemec found the back of the net less than three minutes into overtime to send New Jersey home with the team's second straight win. With the twine finder, the 21-year-old blueliner has five goals, 14 points, 34 shots on goal and 35 blocks through 23 games this season. The No. 2 overall selection from the 2022 NHL Entry Draft has stepped up offensively this season and is well on his way to a career year. With Dougie Hamilton having experienced a lower-body injury earlier in November, Nemec has been neck-and-neck with Luke Hughes for the most points from New Jersey's blue line. Nemec remains a solid option despite Hamilton's return due to a hot start to the year offensively.

Will Borgen D | NYR
Rangers' Will Borgen: Not returning Wednesday
Borgen (upper body) won't return to the lineup against Carolina on Wednesday, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
Borgen remains on injured reserve for one more game at least. The 28-year-old's next chance to play is Friday in Boston.

Thomas Chabot D | OTT
Senators' Thomas Chabot: Set to miss another game
Chabot (upper body) won't play in Wednesday's game against the Golden Knights, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Chabot remains day-to-day due to an upper-body injury, and he'll be unavailable for a second consecutive game Wednesday. Nikolas Matinpalo should stay in the lineup against Vegas, while Chabot's next opportunity to suit up will be Friday against St. Louis.

Connor Mackey D | NYR
Rangers' Connor Mackey: Recalled from AHL
Mackey was recalled from AHL Hartford on Wednesday.
Mackey hasn't yet appeared in any NHL games this year, and he'll provide additional depth for the Rangers during Wednesday's game against Carolina. Mackey has made 15 appearances in the AHL to begin the year, recording three assists, nine PIM and a minus-6 rating.

Olli Maatta D | CGY
Mammoth's Olli Maatta: Won't play Wednesday
Maatta (undisclosed) will miss Wednesday's clash against Montreal, per Cole Bagley of KSL Sports.
Although Maatta will miss at least one game, his absence was described as maintenance because he's a little banged up. That might indicate that Maatta won't be out for long. That said, the Finnish defenseman isn't consistently in the lineup even when he's available -- Maatta was a healthy scratch in Utah's past three games.

Sean Durzi D | UTA
Mammoth's Sean Durzi: Returning to action Wednesday
Durzi (upper body) will play in Wednesday's game against the Canadiens, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.
Durzi hasn't played since Oct. 11, but he'll be able to put his 21-game absence to an end Wednesday. Over his first two appearances this year, he recorded an assist, four blocked shots, four PIM and three hits while averaging 18:56 of ice time.

K'Andre Miller D | CAR
Hurricanes' K'Andre Miller: Set to play Wednesday
Miller (undisclosed) is slated to rejoin the lineup against the Rangers on Wednesday.
Miller missed Tuesday's practice after getting hurt versus the Sabres on Sunday, but he appears to be no worse for wear. The blueliner hasn't found the back of the net since the season opener against the Devils on Oct. 9, a stretch of 15 outings without a goal. Still, Miller has racked up eight helpers over that stretch and should be capable of offering decent mid-range fantasy value.
