  • Erik Cernak D | TB

    Lightning's Erik Cernak: Game-time decision

Cernak (lower body) will be a game-time decision against Washington on Saturday, per Lightning reporter Gabby Shirley.

Tampa Bay hopes to have Cernak back following a two-game absence. The 28-year-old defender has three assists, 12 shots on goal, 40 blocked shots and 39 hits across 18 appearances this season. If Cernak returns to action, Steve Santini will be a healthy scratch versus the Capitals.

  • Ben Chiarot D | DET

Red Wings' Ben Chiarot: Rare offensive spark Saturday

Chiarot scored a goal on two shots on net and added an assist, three blocked shots, two hits, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over Columbus.

The veteran blueliner got Detroit's comeback from a 3-1 deficit started midway through the third period before getting the puck to Alex DeBrincat in OT for the winner. It was Chiarot's first multi-point performance of the season, and through 22 games, he's produced two goals, four assists, 49 hits, 45 blocked shots, 24 PIM and a plus-5 rating.

  • Red Wings' Moritz Seider: Two-point effort in OT win

Seider produced a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.

Both points came in the third period as the Red Wings rallied from a 3-1 deficit, setting the stage for Alex DeBrincat's OT winner. Seider has gotten onto the scoresheet in five of the last six games, collecting two goals and eight points during that stretch. He has put a sluggish start to the season behind him.

  • Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Two-point effort Saturday

Werenski scored an even-strength goal on a team-high seven shots on net and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Red Wings.

The star blueliner helped set up an Adam Fantilli tally in the first period before giving Columbus a 3-1 lead midway through the third himself, but Detroit came storming back late. Werenski extended his point streak to six games with the performance, racking up three goals and 10 points during that stretch.

  • Filip Hronek D | VAN

Canucks' Filip Hronek: Dealing with illness

Hronek (illness) was absent from Saturday's practice, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.

Hronek's availability for Sunday's game against Calgary is unclear. He has generated one goal, 11 assists, 29 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and 45 hits across 22 appearances this season. If Hronek misses Sunday's matchup, Pierre-Olivier Joseph will probably be in the lineup.

  • Brock Faber D | MIN

Wild's Brock Faber: Collects two assists

Faber logged two assists and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 5-0 win over the Penguins.

Faber has three points and a plus-4 rating over his last two games. After a slow start to the year, Faber has four multi-point efforts over his last 13 contests, a span that includes all 12 of his points this season. The 23-year-old defenseman has added 48 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 22 appearances.

  • Penguins' Connor Clifton: Searching for first point

Clifton had three hits and a blocked shot in 18:21 of ice time in Friday's 5-0 loss to the Wild.

Clifton has played in five of the Penguins' last six games, but he's suited up for just eight of 20 contests to begin the season. He's been held without a point while racking up 36 hits, 17 blocked shots, a minus-2 rating and six shots on net. Clifton should continue to provide plenty of physicality. However, he could return to the press box when the Penguins want to get another look at Harrison Brunicke, who has been scratched for six straight games as the team buys itself time to decide if he'll be a full-time NHLer this year.

  • Will Borgen D | NYR

Rangers' Will Borgen: Remains out of action

Borgen (upper body) will miss Saturday's tilt in Utah, per Peter Baugh of The Athletic.

Borgen will miss his fourth contest in the past five games. He is considered day-to-day and could return as early as Monday against the Blues. Borgen has one goal and two assists in 19 games this season.

  • Sam Rinzel D | CHI

Blackhawks' Sam Rinzel: Manages two assists in loss

Rinzel recorded two assists, three blocked shots and a minus-3 rating in Friday's 9-3 loss to the Sabres.

Rinzel has three helpers over three games since he was made a healthy scratch last Saturday versus the Maple Leafs. The 21-year-old blueliner has operated as the Blackhawks' seventh defenseman, resulting in a large drop in ice time from where he was at early in the season. He's up to six points, 29 shots on net, 26 blocked shots, 18 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 20 appearances. Rinzel has the talent to play a larger role, but he'll need to string together some good performances to stake a claim to more ice time.

  • Alex Vlasic D | CHI

Blackhawks' Alex Vlasic: Scores in Friday's loss

Vlasic scored a goal, blocked four shots and went minus-3 in Friday's 9-3 loss to the Sabres.

Vlasic was held off the scoresheet for his first nine games in November. The 24-year-old defenseman has remained in a top-four role this season, but his usage has tilted more defensively compared to 2024-25. Vlasic is at five points, 19 shots on net, 34 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 20 appearances.
