Sam Rinzel D | CHI
Blackhawks' Sam Rinzel: Earns first NHL assist
Rinzel notched an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Penguins.
Rinzel needed four games to earn his first NHL point. The 20-year-old defenseman has immediately stepped into a top-pairing role alongside Alex Vlasic. Rinzel has added 11 shots on net, seven hits, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over four appearances since signing out of the University of Minnesota, where he had 32 points in 40 contests as a sophomore this season.

Alexander Romanov D | NYI
Islanders' Alexander Romanov: Breaks slump with assist
Romanov notched an assist, two shots on goal, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Capitals.
Romanov ended a 14-game point drought by helping out on the first of Marc Gatcomb's two goals. In that span, Romanov missed two contests due to an illness and racked up 39 hits and 39 blocked shots. He's remained in a top-four role despite the lack of offense -- his playing style focuses on physicality and defense more than scoring. Romanov is up to 19 points, 91 shots on net, 158 blocks, 142 hits and a plus-9 rating over 60 appearances. Were it not for injuries, he likely would have been able to surpass the 22-point total he logged in each of the previous two seasons, though he could still do it with a strong finish to 2024-25.

Spencer Stastney D | EDM
Predators' Spencer Stastney: Returning to action Sunday
Stastney (upper body) is available for Sunday's game against Montreal, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Stastney missed Thursday's matchup against Dallas due to an upper-body injury, but he'll be back in action following a one-game absence. He's made 15 appearances since the start of March, logging three assists, 16 blocked shots, eight hits and two PIM while averaging 16:23 of ice time.

David Savard D | MON
Canadiens' David Savard: Ruled out for Sunday's game
Savard has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Nashville for an undisclosed reason.
While the reason for Savard's absence isn't yet clear, he's considered day-to-day. Sunday's absence will be Savard's first since mid-January, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Arber Xhekaj enter the lineup in his place.

Gustav Forsling D | FLA
Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Resting Sunday
Forsling (rest) won't play against Detroit on Sunday, per Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.
Forsling will get the second half of Florida's back-to-back off to rest but could return Tuesday against Toronto. He has generated 10 goals, 27 points, 181 shots on net, 86 blocked shots and 80 hits through 76 appearances this season. Matt Kiersted will replace Forsling in Sunday's lineup.

Drew Doughty D | LA
Kings' Drew Doughty: Status uncertain for Monday
Doughty missed the end of Saturday's game against the Oilers as a precautionary measure due to his ankle injury, but his status for Monday's game against Seattle is up in the air, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.
Doughty missed the start of the 2024-25 season due to an ankle injury, and head coach Jim Hiller said Sunday that the 35-year-old won't be 100 percent healthy before the end of the regular season. However, Doughty has been on a hot streak lately, posting a goal, four assists, six hits, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-6 rating over his last four appearances. If he's unable to play against the Kraken, Jacob Moverare or Kyle Burroughs will likely enter the lineup.

Olli Maatta D | CGY
Hockey Club's Olli Maatta: First point since return
Maatta notched an assist, two blocked shots and two PIM in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Jets.
This was Maatta's second game back after missing two due to a lower-body injury. The 30-year-old blueliner ended a 10-game point drought with the secondary assist on Nick Bjugstad's empty-netter. Maatta is up to 16 points, 66 shots on net, 121 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 72 appearances between Utah and Detroit, and he's been a valuable bottom-four blueliner in his time with Utah.

Cam York D | PHI
Flyers' Cam York: Secures helper in loss
York notched an assist and two PIM in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Canadiens.
York helped out on a Ryan Poehling tally in the first period. This was York's second assist in his last six games. He has produced 16 points, 63 shots on net, 115 blocked shots, 53 hits and a minus-7 rating over 61 appearances. The defenseman has had a down year, so fantasy managers should adjust their expectations for him going into 2025-26, as it's looking less likely he'll be a potential fantasy star from the blue line.

Lane Hutson D | MON
Canadiens' Lane Hutson: Nets go-ahead goal in win
Hutson scored a goal and blocked three shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Flyers.
Hutson has racked up two goals and 12 assists over his last 12 contests. He gave the Canadiens a 2-1 lead in the second period of Saturday's contest. Hutson leads all NHL rookies with 63 points (six goals, 57 assists), and he's earned 25 power-play points. His recent momentum is impressive, and it's linked with the Canadiens' push to take the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, which they currently have by a four-point margin over the Rangers. Hutson is definitely in the conversation for the Calder Trophy and continues to handle a top-four role pretty well at age 21.

Scott Morrow D | NYR
Hurricanes' Scott Morrow: Pockets assist
Morrow produced an assist and four shots on goal in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Bruins.
Morrow has played in consecutive contests as the Hurricanes look to rest defensemen ahead of the playoffs. Dmitry Orlov sat Friday in Detroit, while Jalen Chatfield was out Saturday, allowing Morrow to get a little more experience in a third-pairing role. For the season, Morrow has a goal, four assists, 18 shots on net, eight blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over nine outings.
